JiraTsu is the het ship between Jiraiya and Tsunade from the Naruto fandom.
Canon[]
Jiraiya and Tsunade were assigned to the same ninja team when they first became genin and were trained under the Third Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi. Jiraiya developed an instant crush on Tsunade who found him to be annoying and taunted him when he got tied to a log at the end of their bell test. Jiraiya would continue to train and try to impress Tsunade, but she would continuously reject his advances. At one point, Jiraiya peeped on Tsunade while she was bathing in the hot springs. Tsunade caught him and punched him very hard in response, leaving a scar and resulting in a near-death experience.
Jiraiya and Tsunade became legendary shinobi along with their teammate Orochimaru and were dubbed the three legendary Sannin during the Second Shinobi World War. They also met three orphaned children in the Land of Rain, and Jiraiya decided to stay behind and train them so that they could survive. Jiraiya later received news that all three of them had supposedly died, and Tsunade comforted him.
Many years later, when the Third Hokage was killed, the council voted for Jiraiya to be the next Hokage, but he turned down the position as he was not interested, and instead suggested having Tsunade take the role. When it was pointed out that Tsunade had not been seen in a long time, Jiraiya offered to go look for her and brought his newest student Naruto with him. When they finally found her, Tsunade said that she was not interested and drugged Jiraiya, as she initially planned on using him as a sacrifice to have Orochimaru revive one of her loved ones.
Tsunade later had a change of heart and fought Orochimaru along with Kabuto in battle, and Jiraiya and Naruto joined her, but Jiraiya was not at his full strength due to being drugged by Tsunade. After his pupil Naruto finally managed to impress Tsunade, she agreed to accept the hokage position and they successfully fended off Orochimaru and Kabuto.
Years later, Jiraiya revealed that he located Akatsuki's leader, Pain, and that he planned on fighting him. Tsunade was worried he would die and did not want him to fight Pain. Tsunade wanted to go instead, but Jiraiya said that she was the hokage and needed to live, to which she responded that there were other able-bodied successors such as Kakashi. Jiraiya told Tsunade that he would be fine and that since she always placed losing bets, to bet on him losing. Tsunade then won a bet, which only happened before a tragic event occurs.

Jiraiya was killed in his battle with Pain but managed to send a message about Pain's weakness back to Konoha. Tsunade was forced to call Naruto into her office and break the news to him, before asking him to help decode the message. Afterwards, Tsunade walked outside of her office and began to cry over Jiraiya while remembering all of their moments together.
Fanon[]
JiraTsu is a popular pairing in the Naruto fandom and one of the most popular pairings involving both characters. It is often compared to NaruSaku as Jiraiya and Tsunade trained Naruto and Sakura respectively, and like Jiraiya and Tsunade, Naruto had a crush on Sakura. While NaruSaku ended up not being endgame, plenty of canon shippers also shipped JiraTsu due to their chemistry and believing that Jiraiya's affections were eventually requitted. Many believed that it was implied that Tsunade was willing to give Jiraiya a chance if he had come back alive. On AO3, there are over 600 works for the pairing. JiraTsu most commonly rivals the DanTsu, OroJira, and OroTsu pairings.
