JohnJane is the het ship between Jane Doe and John Doe from the Roblox fandom.
Canon[]
The two were official test accounts created by Roblox CEOs, David Baszucki and Erik Cassel. The accounts were made on June 25, 2005 (although their join dates are listed as February 27, 2006).
These accounts were used by the admins as NPCs to communicate with other players. The John Doe account was last online on September 7, 2017, around 8:11 PM (both according to Alexrocks911's Check A User's Last Online Information game). John Doe was last online on March 18, 2016 while Jane Doe was last online on December 4, 2015. Before all of this information came to the public, both accounts were last seen online on February 27, 2006, at around 3:06 PM (when Roblox officially left the alpha testing stage). Many people speculated that these accounts were accessed by password guessers, but it was instead Roblox cleaning John and Jane Doe's friends lists.
The accounts have been a subject to many Roblox rumors and myths over the years, like the infamous "John Doe will hack roblox on March 18th". The rumors became so big that Roblox actually had to make a blog post explaining the reason the accounts were made.[1]

Jane Doe and John Doe have been one of the most popular figures in the Roblox community, despite the fact that they were just alternative test accounts. Since so many rumors have been made about the two, games and fancontent alike have started to use them as a way to make their own versions of the characters. There are plenty of interpretations as to how people view the two such as, making them a married couple, or as if they're together or simply in love. In Forsaken, for example, the two are married with John forgetting Jane due to corruption. Some like to depict the two as siblings. Others even like to view the two as twins due to their similar names and looks.
The two being siblings is a somewhat common depiction that has gotten even more popular from the game, TRUD. Even some Forsaken fancontent of the two changes them from being married into siblings mostly because some fans who played TRUD before in the past just can't see them being married because of that.
Often content and variants will depict John in his 2011-2016 avatar while Jane is usually in her 2017-2023 avatar, or in her 2011-2016 avatar but often keeps her current purple hair in said avatar. Usually, John Doe always keeps the light yellow skin while Jane is shown with that same yellow color or in a gray skin color with no in-betweens.
In content such as Youtube videos talking about John Doe, it places more of an emphasize on him rather than Jane but still usually mentions her even if there was no talk of her rumors. With that in mind, the John Doe account does have more rumors over the Jane Doe account. However, in most of his rumors she is still mentioned even if she doesn't play a big role at all. This could be used in retellings as Jane being a bystander to John's "antics" or her seemingly being apart of the hackings but with John taking most of the blame in order to protect her.
Overall it is the most popular ship for Jane and John because of the two's accounts being so intertwined, it's only real rival is 1xdoe from the Forsaken fandom.

- John/Jane Doe is a term usually used by criminal investigators to refer to unknown dead bodies or unidentified criminals, male and female respectively.
- The name John Doe also refers to an anonymous male and likewise for Jane Doe referring to an anonymous female.
- The account's usernames are the very few ones with a space in it as you can't make usernames with spaces now, considering it was only a glitch and has since been fixed.
- John Doe's user ID is #2, while Jane Doe's user ID is #3.
- John Doe had 9 friends on his list while Jane Doe had 3 because of a bug that caused TheC0mmunity, IhaxLV, CPUVirtualization, and Ananymoos to be some of their friends in September 2015. Many other users like erik.cassel, 1x1x1x1, Games, qa and BrownCheese had this bug too. John Doe and Jane Doe's friends were later removed in late March 2017.
