Junyoung is the femslash ship between Kim Jun-hee and Kim Young-mi from the Squid Game fandom.
Canon[]
In canon, Jun-hee and Young-mi currently have no interactions.
Character-wise, they're quite different; Young-mi is much more anxious and prone to panicking, and so she often sticks to her team. Jun-hee, on the other hand, is more withdrawn, almost to the point of coldness. She tries to be independent yet needs dependence due to her pregnancy. Together, their personalities are not opposite, but not too similar either.
Their only similarities seem to be that they're both players/participants of the Squid Games and that they both encounter personal challenges, are in debt, and face the harsh realities of the game. Yet, their personal struggles and character arcs are dissimilar and unrelated. Along with their personal struggles, the two are the few women in the game, which means they are prone to a disadvantage due to sexist beliefs and such. Jun-hee's main struggle was her pregnancy, while Young-mi's was her anxiousness.
Although the two have no major interactions or scenes together, they're both mutual friends of Cho Hyun-ju. Both of them seemed to look up to Hyun-ju; Young-mi trusted Hyun-ju deeply and stuck by her, while Jun-hee was assisted by Hyun-ju during her pregnancy, the birth of her child, and the Hide and Seek game. The two weren't in any major scenes together, yet they were seen in overlapping groups and games throughout the series.
Fanon[]
In fanon, Junyoung is considered to be a rarepair and isn't commonly shipped compared to their popular competition/rival ships such as Hyunmi on Young-mi's side and 555 on Jun-hee's. Junyoung isn't a widespread femslash ship for neither Jun-hee or Young-mi, with Jun-hee's most popular femslash ship being Junmi (Jun-hee & Se-mi) on AO3 and Young-mi's being Hyunmi.
Though small, Junyoung's fanbase is still present. A small amount of fans enjoy the ship due to their potential interactions and dynamics. Considering that Jun-hee and Young-mi look up to Hyun-ju, a few fans ship the three together.
Since the two have no interactions, fans have come up with their own interpretations as to how Jun-hee and Young-mi would interact with each other. The two being friends with Hyun-ju has led some people to believe they could've shared a connection. On AO3, Junyoung has 1 romantic work and no gen/platonic works, with their one fic on AO3 depicting Young-mi baby-sitting Jun-hee's daughter.
