KFC is the familyship between Kris from the Deltarune fandom and Frisk and Chara from the Undertale fandom.

Canon

The characters have not interacted as Kris only appears in Deltarune while Frisk and Chara appear in Undertale. Kris seems to be the Deltarune counterpart of both Frisk and Chara. All three are the only human in a world inhabited by monsters, and are adopted by the Dreemur family.

Just like Frisk, the player assumes the role of Kris. Kris also has a yellowish skin tone, and a blue color scheme in the Dark World. Kris can also hug some adversaries upon ACTing.

But Kris has a lot more in common with Chara. Both love chocolate. Both wear green shirt with yellow stripes. Both are pranksters. Both are associated with knives. Both can be very creepy; Chara being corrupted by the player's actions and Kris downright refusing and rebel against them.

Fanon

Following the release of Deltarune, fanart of this trio started to be made as Kris had similar traits to both Frisk and Chara. In fanart, Kris is often portrayed as the older sibling of Frisk and Chara, while the latter two are around the same age. A less common alternate portrayal is having Kris be notably younger than Frisk and Chara, a scenario known as Reverse KFC. This familyship can be seen as an expansion to a family version of Charisk, where Chara and Frisk are portrayed as siblings.

The name KFC for the ship comes from the first letters of each character and the fact that it is the acronym of Kentucky Fried Chicken. DeviantArt user Kaitogirl has made fanart of the three at KFC. This image is one of the most popular images of the pairing, with over 1000 favorites. The acronym has been in use for the trio since at least early-mid-November 2018.

On AO3, the tag for this trio is not very common. The first use of this trio on the website was on December 12, 2018, in Flirting in the Void by wordbending. As of October 2019, there are seven fanworks involving the trio, and it is unknown if it is among the top ships for any of the characters or fandoms.

The trio is more popular on DeviantArt, where there are over 300 pictures of the three together, although they are not always portrayed as a family. The biggest collection of the trio was made by CountryballFan, and features a great part of all KFC fanart images. Many KFC images have at least a hundred favorites, although KFC images with over a thousand favorites are rare.
