Kaenari is the slash ship between Kaeya Alberich and Tighnari from the Genshin Impact fandom.
Canon[]
Since the two are separated by faraway regions they haven't received the chance to meet. Despite Tighnari visiting Mondstadt with companions, they still haven't bumped into each other. However, the two are present together in official Hoyoverse art in celebration of a mass following on social media app, Reddit. A major contrast between their characters is the significant gap in their personalities. Kaeya is described as more laid-back, secretive, and mischievous.
Tighnari in comparison is strict, sarcastic, and misinterpreted as unapproachable. It's unclear and left for theory whether this major difference in personality will hinder their ability to coincide. It's most likely that Tighnari is aware of Kaeya's existence given Collei's history with the pirate. But it's unknown what his opinion is towards the latter.
Fanon[]
The Kaenari ship is an extremely scarce rarepair within the fandom. A given for their zero interactions and more prominent pairings overshadowing theirs. But regardless of their canonical dissociation fanworks began taking place on fan fiction services, such as the non-profit organization, Archive of Our Own (AO3). The popular relationship trope, Opposites Attract, can be a heavy factor in their fanon popularity. Often some find adoration in their contrasting traits that can possibly be compatible in a relationship.
It's possible that fan theories spiraled to depict whether their relationship would be successful or not given Kaeya's history with Collei. Currently Kaeya's connection with Collei borders on teasing that repels her. The teasing part of his personality can become an important factor in a possible interrelation with Tighnari. Some may compare the ship to Cynonari for Kaeya's closer aspects in characterization being arguably similar to Cyno's to a specific extent. Their recognition as a ship is primarily found on AO3.
The platonic and romantic variations are split out evenly in small numbers, proving their small attention.
