KaiEri is the familyship between Kai Chisaki and Eri from the My Hero Academia fandom.
Canon[]
Both Eri and Chisaki are connected to the Yakuza because they are both relatives of the previous leader of the Shie Hassaikai, which makes them an adoptive family, since Eri is the leader's blood granddaughter and Chisaki his adopted son. Despite being familiar, Chisaki never cared for Eri and only used her for her experiments as a lab rat. Chisaki found out who Eri was after being instructed by the previous Shie Hassaikai leader to become her tutor and study her powers due to Eri's Quirk getting out of control and killing her father by accident. Despite being asked by the Yakuza leader to take care of her, Chisaki had no intention of helping her with her powers and upon learning of her rewind, Chisaki came up with a plan to create anti-Quirk drugs with Eri's blood and cells.
After Chisaki left the former Yakuza leader in a coma, Chisaki began to experiment with Eri and traumatize her for years physically and mentally by experimenting with her, leaving her with permanent scars and insulting and manipulating her frequently calling her a curse and that her existence only brought pain to her others. Because Eri was invaluable to her experiments, Chisaki did not allow Eri to escape and locked her away from the outside world and forced her to retreat whenever she tried to escape, robbing her of a normal childhood and knowledge of the outside world. Chisaki also allowed him luxuries, since in his room he had many unopened toys and a neat and beautiful bed. Another method with which he manipulated her was using the accidental death of her father against her and Eri knows his gestures perfectly, such as when Chisaki was taking off a glove in front of Mirio and Izuku, indicating that she was preparing to kill them.
When Eri was out in public, Chisaki avoids suspicions with people by pretending to be her father and calling her a "clumsy" and "misbehaved" girl, he also showed to be very possessive of Eri considering himself the only one who truly understands her power and saying that Eri belongs to him and his mission. When Izuku and Mirio took Eri away from him, Chisaki had rare outbursts of rage and insanity, quickly attacking both Students who had driven her away from her side and resorting to extreme methods that she would normally find disgusting only to get her back. After Eri was rescued by the heroes and the Shie Hassaikai had been destroyed, Chisaki fell into a depression as her dreams fell apart with the loss of Eri's rewind. While Eri was still traumatized by the traumas Chisaki inflicted on her and it took several weeks for her to smile after rescuing her before she could begin to live as a normal and cheerful child.

Because of how Kai treated Eri as a means to accomplish his goal than the child that she is, fans don't strongly support this pairing and were glad when Eri was saved from him. A few Kai redemption fanfics and theories, however, have Kai wanting to atone for what he did to her. Usually, Kai is a hated character and Eri isn’t. Despite this fact, it hasn't fans from writing fanfics about the two or creating fanart and posts on them. At it helped to create the Dadhaul AU. It's an AU of Kai being a very good father for Eri, but it's not very popular considering how many people despises Kai, Even though the rest of the fanworks on the two reflects on how cruelly Kai treated Eri and her being saved from him.
On AO3, the ship currently has over 160 works written in the gen tag. Despite being a friendship ship, some people still write romantic works of the two, with over 30 works written in that tag.
