KaiLuka is the het ship between KAITO and Megurine Luka from the Vocaloid and Project SEKAI fandom.

Canon

Kaito and Luka are both characters from the Vocaloid software. They don't have any official dynamic as they are Vocaloids. Their dynamic depends on the song that they sing together. They are both from Crypton Future Media, so they are often shown together in official works. They also appear together in Project Sekai alongside Miku, Rin, Len and Meiko, and help the characters from the 5 different groups find their feelings.

Songs

Kaito and Luka don't have many duos, but their most popular duet song is El Tango Egoista by nyanyannya. The most popular song where both sing is Acute- this song also uses Miku's vocals.

In Acute, Miku, Kaito and Luka were best friends since their childhood. Both Luka and Miku started to fall in love with Kaito, so they promised not to confess their feelings in order to not hurt each other. Even so, Kaito and Luka started dating behind Miku's back when they were in college. When Kaito had a flashback about someone being stabbed, Luka arrived at Kaito's house and confessed her feelings. Miku started to doubt if Luka was keeping her promise because she noticed that Kaito and Luka were very close. Afraid of her suspicions being true, Miku confessed her feelings for Kaito and they embraced.

Thinking that Kaito truly loved her and Luka just brainwashed him, Miku decided to pretend to be enganged with Kaito in order to "free him". Kaito and Luka noticed that Miku was acting strange and Kaito told Luka that he embraced Miku. Both Kaito and Luka felt guilty about Miku's change. Miku arrived at Kaito's house where they were and stabbed Kaito, and later tried to kill herself so she and Kaito could be together again. Luka called an ambulance, saving both Miku and Kaito lives, and at the end Miku apologized to Luka and wished the best for her and Kaito.

Fanon

KaiLuka isn't very popular, but it isn't a rarepair either. People usually prefer KaiMiku, KaiMei, GakuKai, and GakuLuka. In AO3 the ship has 28 romantic works and 15 gen works. This makes them the 7th most written ship for Kaito and the 4th most written for Luka. Despite not being very popular on AO3, the ship has a large amount of fanarts.
