KamiDeku is the slash ship between Izuku Midoriya and Denki Kaminari from the My Hero Academia fandom.
Canon[]
Denki and Izuku are both students at UA High School in Class 1-A. While Izuku is a member of the "Dekusquad", Denki is part of the "Bakusquad". Despite this, the two seem to get along rather well with each other. Denki seems to show admiration for Izuku and his skills, noting during the Stain Arc that he had improved the most out of everyone during his internship.

Izuku, alongside Tenya Iida and Shoto Todoroki, encourages Denki to study and do his best on the spring semester finals. When Denki fails his practical exam and thinks he won't be allowed to attend summer training, Izuku tries to cheer him up. He tells Denki and the others that there may be a "last minute twist" on the horizon. Denki, however, doesn't want to listen to Izuku's optimism, and pokes him in the eyes. In the end, it is revealed that all those who failed the practical are still allowed to attend the summer training camp.
Before the class heads off to summer camp, Denki and Minoru Mineta plan to visit the UA school pool as an opportunity to see girls in swimsuits. Deciding that their best course of action is to claim that they're using the pool for "training", they decide to invite Izuku along with them to truly sell the deception. However, Izuku invites the rest of the 1-A boys, and effectively ruins Denki's plan.
During the Provisional Hero License Exam, Hanta Sero tells Denki and Minoru that Izuku got to see Camie Utsushimi (really Himiko Toga in disguise) naked. Denki and Minoru become immediately jealous, and rush towards Izuku demanding details. Izuku tries to explain that the circumstances were a result of her Quirk, but Denki ignores him.
Denki restrains Izuku
When Izuku leaves UA following the Paranormal Liberation War, Denki and the rest of Class 1-A try to find him. When they eventually catch up with him, the class works together to bring Izuku home. Denki reminds Izuku that One for All is important, but that his friendships are even more important. He wraps his arms around Izuku, and then Mezo Shoji and Fumikage Tokoyami arrive to help restrain Denki and Izuku to a pillar. Denki tells Izuku that he should relax rather than carrying the burden of One for All entirely on his own shoulders, then tells Izuku that he should take a bath as well. Denki attempts to use his Quirk on Izuku, but he breaks free and tries to continue running from his classmates.

Tenya eventually manages to convince Izuku to return to UA, and Denki and the rest of the class escort Izuku back to the school. Once inside the building, Denki follows up on his earlier comments about bathing. He, along with the other 1-A boys, strip Izuku out of his Dark Hero costume and throw him into the dormitory bath. Denki says that anything can be fixed with a nice, hot bath, as all of the boys soak.
My Hero Academia: Two Heroes[]
Denki and Minoru see Izuku walking around I-Island with Melissa Shield, and pull him aside to ask more about her. Denki joins Izuku and other members of Class A in the fight against Wolfram. Denki eventually overloads on his Quirk before the fight finishes, but the two are later seen enjoying a barbecue with the rest of their class after Izuku's success.
My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising[]
Denki and Izuku join the rest of their classmates on Nabu Island. Denki plays a pivotal role in defeating Nine, using his Quirk as a lightning rod to redirect Nine's attack away from Izuku and Katsuki.
My Hero Academia: World Heroes Mission[]
Denki is a member of the hero team in Egypt. He doesn't believe the news when it's reported that Izuku committed mass murder in Otheon. He stands behind his friend, and is later seen encouraging him to diffuse the Trigger bombs.
Fanon[]
KamiDeku is a relatively popular pairing in the fandom, despite the characters not sharing much screen time. Fans tend to enjoy the dynamics of shipping Izuku with Bakusquad characters, such as his popular ships with Katsuki Bakugou and Eijiro Kirishima. These often overshadow Izuku's ships with his own friends, and KamiDeku is no exception. Many like to pair the characters into some form of polycule together, rather than bother with picking a single favourite ship.
Fans enjoy the possibilities between KamiDeku, and are more inspired by that than any canon interactions between them. As both characters are lively, optimistic, and prone to talking too much, fans can see plenty of similarities between them. Some believe that Izuku would help Denki to become a better student, as he is ranked in the top of their class. They think that his positivity would also help with Denki's self esteem when it comes to his intelligence, in contrast to a ship like KamiJirou where Denki's intelligence is constantly mocked.
In late 2024, KamiDeku gained traction on TikTok due to a noted "SparkNotes Edit".
KamiDeku currently has over 1100 works on AO3. Its main rivals are BakuDeku and ShinKami, which are the first and tenth most popular ships in the fandom overall.
