KanaShio is the femslash ship between Kanata Konoe and Shioriko Mifune from the Love Live! fandom.

Canon

Kanata Konoe was a third-year student of Nijigasaki High and a member of the School Idol Club. Although she's been in the school for the longest time, she never met Shioriko Mifune until after hosting the School Idol Festival. A few months later, Shioriko was immediately transferred to Nijigasaki and elected as the member of the student council. Kanata and Shioriko met for the first time when Yu and Ayumu brought Lanzhu and Shioriko to the club's stall to introduced their newly-transferred foreign student, but with barely any interactions of them. Shortly the two met again when Shioriko informs Lanzhu about her unauthorized concert at the hall and to write a formal apology, although without any sort of communication despite they were only few feet apart.

The following day, Shioriko attended the joint concert and sees Kanata's performance as an idol, which gives her impressions about the group and expressed her support for the club. However, Shioriko's interest into school idols was held back by her childhood memomy with her older sister Kaoruko when their former group failed to qualify in the competition and announced the retirement ahead of their graduation from high school. During the 2nd School Idol Festival, Kaoruko informed the second-years about her young sister's past which prompts the entire group to help her out. While the group was trying to convince Shioriko to be a school idol, Kanata jokingly compliment her duty as a student council and called out the School Idol Festival won't be a success without her effort. The group finally succeeds to bring back her interest into school idols.

In the final day of the 2nd School Idol Festival, Kanata and Shioriko helped Yu when she's having troubled from composing a song for the last venue. They also helped Lanzhu from quitting her career as a school idol and welcomed them for joining the club. At some point, Kanata and Shioriko has formed their friendship prior to hosting their own slumber party at Osaka's residence to celebrate their new members. During their firework display, Kanata and Shioriko share their moment by forming a heart-shaped lightning. And after their slumber party, the group receives an offer to recognize their club as a official club, but they decided to decline an offer and instead host their own event at the end of the year.

KanaShio is among the lesser popular ship in the Love Live! and Nijigasaki fandom because of their little to no interactions across the media. Despite that, some Love Live shippers has found the potential of the two or simply because any Nijigasaki pairs can be shipped. This ship began sailing when Kanata and Shioriko stood together in the opening MV of Nijigasaki 2nd Season and in Season 2 Episode 10 where two formed a heart-shape with their fireworks during the segment of "Love U my friends". As with many lesser popular, this ship forms a mutual friend with other rare pairs, but it is heavily contested by popular ships with ShioPomu, SetsuShio, YuuShio, LanShio EmmaKana, KanaKari, and Konoe Sisters.

Trivia

• In Love Live! School Idol Festival and Love Live! School Idol Festival ALL STARS, KanaShio can be formed as a single team with only their cards, and in ALL STARS the ship can be viewed in the MV or the gamplay (using the aforementioned team) in certain songs, and they can have their own SP animation if their cards are slotted on the SP gauge (either 2 Kanata cards and 1 Shioriko card or vise versa) and use the SP during the gameplay. 3D settings must be enabled in the live settings to see it.
