Kanarise is the femslash ship between Rise Kujikawa and Kanami Mashita from the Persona fandom.
Canon[]
Rise and Kanami are both J-Pop idols. Rise performs under the stage name "Risette", and is considered to be one of the most popular idols at the time. Kanami is an up-and-comer, and the leader sings of "Kanamin Kitchen". They are both signed to Takura Productions, and are managed by Minoru Inoue.
After Rise's brief retirement from show business, Kanami seems to step up to fill her place. She takes over a movie role that Rise had originally been signed to. Fans start to see her as the "new Risette", and view her as less "fake" than Risette ever was. Rise is hurt by this, but is not surprised to see that Kanami has grown in popularity. Kanami is scheduled to perform a concert at the Inaba branch of Junes, but the concert is cancelled. Rise agrees to Yosuke Hanamura's request to hold a concert in Kanami's place, and the Investigation Team comes together to put on a musical performance.
In Persona 4: Dancing All Night, Kanamin Kitchen and Risette are both set to appear in the Love Meets Bonds Festival. They meet up at Takura Productions one evening a few days before the festival, where Rise introduces Kanami to Yu Narukami and Naoto Shirogane. It is shown that the two get along particularly well, and support each other's career despite being pitted as "rivals" by fans.
When the pair dance together during "Fever Time", one of the other characters can be heard commenting: "I think I have a new OTP!".

Kanarise is considered a rarepair in the fandom. Since Kanami is only mentioned in Persona 4, and doesn't make a true appearance until the spin-off game, Persona 4: Dancing All Night, she is not often thought about by the fandom. Additionally, Kanami and Rise share very little screen time with each other in the game. Still, fans of the ship like it as the two appear to be close friends and share many things in common. Others enjoy it as a way to pair Rise off into a ship, featuring Kanarise alongside the more popular SouYo, KanNao, and YukiChie.
