KaneShino is the family ship between Kanae and Shinobu Kocho from the Demon Slayer fandom.
Canon[]
Kanae and Shinobu are extremely close, and they have shown a true sisterly bond with each other. They grew even closer after their parents died, and they had to both rely on each other. Shinobu looked up to her sister and often would turn to her anytime she would have troubles to which Kanae would politely educate her. The bond of these two is so deep that both made a vow to protect others from going through the same pains that they did after they survived a Demon Attack that took the lives of their parents. Their relationship can be quite strange sometimes however, due to Kanae making lighthearted weird remarks without much thought first and Shinobu would worry about this behavior and would become confused by it as well. Regardless, she has deep care for her sister and strongly trusts her even if she disagrees with her. As seen when the two adopted Kanao and ran off with their new little sister.
Later however, Kanae’s care for her sister was shown the most in her last moments of life. Kanae pleaded for Shinobu to leave the Demon Slayer Corps and live a free happy life with Kanao since they knew how to protect themselves if a sudden Demon Attack were to happen. Kanae states that the only thing that would truly make her happy is knowing that Shinobu could live a happy life. Shinobu refuses and tells her that she can’t possibly do that after the oath they had made and begs Kanae to tell her which Demon did this to her, so she could make them suffer and swore eternal vengeance against whoever was responsible. Unfortunately, Shinobu was slain by the same demon that had killed Kanae and reunited with her sister in the afterlife. They then bless Kanao to do what they couldn’t.
After Kanao and Inosuke managed to defeat Doma. Both of the Kocho sisters spiritually appear and tell Kanao that she did well as they both pat her head with a smile on their face one last time. Afterwards Shinobu and Kanae pass on for good this time and see their parents waiting for them. They both hug them and are finally able to rest in peace and live happily in the afterlife.

KaneShino is extremely loved inside the fandom due to how close and genuine the bond between these two are. Fans loved how kind they were to each other and how much of an impact Kanae’s death had on Shinobu’s life, further showing how true their love for each other was. People often avoid shipping them romantically due to them being biologically related. The ship currently has over 90 works AO3.
