Karlie is the het ship between Kirby Reed and Charlie Walker from the Scream fandom.
Canon[]
Kirby and Charlie are classmates at Woodsboro High School. Kirby sat behind Charlie in their English class, and the proximity seemingly caused Charlie to develop a crush on her. Both Kirby and Charlie are film fanatics, with Charlie functioning as the President of their school's Cinema Club and Kirby being described in the film's casting call as "a pop culture, horror aficionado, and a nerdy film geek". When Kirby arrives to school on the sixteenth anniversary of the original Woodsboro Killings, Charlie's friend, Robbie Mercer, asks her what her favourite film is. Kirby sarcastically replies, "Bambi", before walking away. Charlie appears amused, and when Robbie reminds him that Kirby doesn't even know that he exists, Charlie asserts that Kirby "wants" him.
After the Second Woodsboro Massacre begins, Kirby and Charlie start to get closer. They bond together with other teens from their school, including Robbie and Kirby's friend, Jill Roberts, in an attempt to avoid the killer. They head to Kirby's house following a Ghostface attack at Charlie and Robbie's "Stab-a-thon", a marathon screening of all the "Stab" movies. Charlie is impressed by Kirby's collection of classic horror films, and Kirby tells him that she could "trivia [his] ass under the table". Charlie asks a trivia question about Texas Chainsaw Massacre, which Kirby correctly answers. Charlie, impressed, says that a spark has just passed between them. Kirby seems to blow this off by jokingly claiming that she has "powers".
Later, the two of them are watching "Stab 7" alone. Kirby suggests that Charlie should make a move on her. When he asks why Kirby can't be the one to make a move, she replies that she just did. Kirby admits that she finds Charlie cute, and the two share a kiss which is quickly interrupted by one of their friends. Charlie angrily storms away from the ruined moment.
Kirby and Jill overhear the sound of a killing occurring outside. Charlie arrives at the back door of the home, covered in blood, and claims that he found Robbie's dead body. Kirby is suspicious, and refuses to let him inside. However, Ghostface soon attacks Charlie and ties him to a chair. Ghostface calls Kirby's phone and makes her play a game of horror movie trivia to save Charlie's life. When she correctly answers both questions given to her, Kirby runs outside and unties Charlie.
However, when Charlie stands up he tells Kirby "this is making a move", and stabs her in the stomach. Charlie continues to stab her as he complains about the fact that it took her four years to notice him. He leaves her for dead in the backyard, then returns inside to continue playing his role as Ghostface. Charlie is eventually killed by Jill, but Kirby survives the Woodsboro Massacre.

Fanon[]
Despite being a semi-canon pairing in the Scream films, Karlie is not a very popular pairing in the fandom. Unlike the Killer/Final Girl relationship between Sidney Prescott and Billy Loomis, which has great popularity in the fandom, Karlie is typically ignored. Many dislike the obsessive nature of Charlie's crush on Kirby, and the way he took his frustration at being "friend zoned" out on her via attempted murder. There is debate about whether or not Kirby's feelings for Charlie were ever genuine, or if she was simply drunk and frightened when she kissed Charlie.
Kirby is most often paired with Jill Roberts, her best friend and the other perpetrator of the Second Woodsboro Massacre. After the release of Scream VI, fans began shipping her with the new character of Sam Carpenter as well. The two were retconned to be friends from high school, with Sam as a freshman and Kirby as a senior, and this created ample opportunities for shipping the two characters. Many fans choose to headcanon Kirby as a queer woman, and don't enjoy shipping her with any male characters.
