Katsuki Bakugō is the deuteragonist of My Hero Academia.
Character[]
Katsuki is a very brash and volatile young man with a unwavering desire to “rise to the top”. He is usually rude, and arrogant which tends to come off as unheroic. But as the series progressed he has majority grown as not just a hero, but a person.
Ever since joining U.A, Katsuki’s arrogant nature started to crack within times he spent there. He used to think that everyone is beneath him and are entitled to just be “steping-stones” for him to climb on ranks. After his loss against Deku in their first training match, his firm self-confidence was replaced with an inferiority and that was the moment he noticed he wasn’t actually special. This was his start-line, the time he made up his mind with not losing against anyone .
He’s started to show his hardworking nature even more since then. The new knowledge he earned helped him to learn many lessons in the future, one of which was that “if you keep looking down on everyone, you wont notice your own weakness“, it thought him to respect others more sincerely compared to before.

Trivia[]
- Katsuki has won all but one of the annual popularity polls held by Shōnen Jump.
- Katsuki is the oldest student in Class 1-A.
- He scored the highest at UA entrance exam with 77 attack points and no saving points.
- His favorite food is spicy food and he has been shown to be a great cook and a food expert on a few occasions. During one of drama CDs he calls Deku and Todoroki idiots for not knowing the name of the most famous Viennese pastry.
- Horikoshi has stated that Katsuki’s design in its entirety is the one he takes most pride in.
- Katsuki shares a costume designer with Ochako, shown by the “signature” of the two black spots on either’s chest.
