KazuScaraLumi is the poly ship between Kaedehara Kazuha, Scaramouche, and Lumine from the Genshin Impact fandom.
Canon[]
In the 3.3 Sumeru Interlude Chapter, Lumine and Scaramouche started as enemies but eventually became allies, developing a relationship of close friendship and companionship[1]. Lumine is the only one who shares a connection with both Kazuha and Scaramouche, as Kazuha has never met Scaramouche. Scaramouche is aware of Kazuha, but they do not share a friendship. Interestingly, despite these differences, the three characters share some similarities: they are all playable with medium-sized models, each can wield Anemo (though Lumine can use multiple elements without a Vision), and they all have experienced personal loss. Lumine lost her brother, Kazuha lost his dear friend, and Scaramouche was betrayed by his creator (the Electro Archon), a friend, and his hope for the future.
Lumine and Scaramouche (now known as the Wanderer) are non-human, with complex backgrounds. The Wanderer is over 500 years old and was originally created by the Electro Archon, Raiden Ei, as a puppet after the Cataclysm. Lumine, a celestial being, has journeyed through countless worlds for over 500 years and witnessed the fall of Khaenri'ah. Meanwhile, Kazuha is a human with a mortal lifespan.
Each character has distinct personality traits:
Lumine
Lumine's personality ranges from stoic and humble to boastful and short-tempered. She is generally well-liked by others but remains reserved, often only concerned with finding her twin brother, Aether, rather than involving herself deeply in each nation's affairs. She doesn’t see gods as inherently deserving of respect and can be quick to walk away from situations that don’t concern her, such as Morax’s supposed “death.” Her quiet nature has led Paimon to speak on her behalf often. She also shows deep concern for Aether, motivated initially to find him and understand their separation. Despite learning about Aether’s position in the Abyss, she still misses him deeply and follows his advice to explore Teyvat for herself. Baizhu reveals Lumine's love for sweets, though he warns her not to eat too many.
Wanderer (Scaramouche)
Before his “three betrayals,” the Wanderer was a curious and kind-hearted figure. Right after his creation, he was full of wonder and sensitivity, but as he experienced betrayal and loss, he grew resentful. When Lumine first encounters him in Sumeru, he is pleasant but haunted by a lack of purpose and feelings of not belonging. He later remembers his past, regaining his former, misanthropic outlook as Scaramouche. He becomes prideful, cruel, and often arrogant, looking down on those around him due to his divine nature. Lumine remains cautious of him, aware of his volatile nature and past conflicts with her, which the Wanderer occasionally teases her about. In contrast to Lumine, he enjoys bitter tastes and dislikes sweets.
Kaedehara Kazuha
Kazuha is polite and well-spoken, with a strong preference for a simple, nomadic lifestyle over staying indoors. As a wanderer, he has taught himself swordsmanship and honed his sensitivity to nature, able to detect danger and read people intuitively. He prefers calm weather and avoids staying in one place for too long, as both make him restless. Kazuha believes everyone has a right to their dreams, even defying Raiden Shogun to protect this ideal, though he respects the strength of those he disagrees with. Despite witnessing his friend's honorable death in a duel, he acknowledges that his friend's execution by the Shogun was justified.
Kazuha values his relationships highly, always willing to help others and grateful to Beidou and Gorou for their support when he was in need. Though quiet and withdrawn after his friend’s death, he eventually opens up and becomes fairly talkative among his crewmates. He enjoys writing haikus and prefers simple, well-prepared meals, taking pride in his heritage as a samurai and carrying his sword with honor. His fondness for red maple leaves serves as a connection to home, and he collects them as mementos during his travels.
This combination of unique personalities and shared hardships gives Lumine, Scaramouche, and Kazuha an intriguing dynamic, bound by common experiences yet shaped by their distinct backgrounds.
Fanon[]
This polyship of Lumine, Scaramouche, and Kazuha isn’t very popular within the Genshin Impact fandom. However, some fans are drawn to this trio because of their shared similarities. Each character also has their own well-known ship: ScaraLumi (Scaramouche x Lumine), KazuScara (Kazuha x Scaramouche), and KazuLumi (Kazuha x Lumine). Among these, Lumine and Kazuha are currently the most popular pairing options for Scaramouche. The Wanderer (Scaramouche's new identity) isn't yet popularized enough as a ship tag to be distinguished separately from Scaramouche.
