KazuTao is the het ship between Kaedehara Kazuha and Hu Tao from the Genshin Impact fandom.

Kazuha and Hu Tao met during the TCG tournament in Genshin impact's 3.7 event story. Kazuha met up with the traveler, Paimon, and Kirara to help with a delivery that was for Hu Tao. When all three arrived at Wengsheng funeral parlor, Kazuha overheard Hu Tao reciting a poem which quickly lead him to make conversation with her. Hu Tao refers to him as a "man of culture" before inviting him to play TCG before she leaves for the final round. Kazuha, who wasn't a TCG player at the time, was lended the traveler's deck of cards and given all the basics by Paimon, or, "Paimon Sensei" as he likes to call her. Kazuha and Hu Tao have an intense poetry exchange before beginning the match together. Hu Tao ended up being the victor however, she credited Kazuha on his skill and found it rather difficult to believe that it was his first time. After some time passed by, Kazuha and Hu Tao see each other again at the harbor after Hu Tao had won the final match and was crowned as the national Genius Invokation TCG champion of Liyue. Hu Tao tells the story with ecstasy and thrill. This seemed to intrigue Kazuha, as he soon compliments her on how her play style is rapid but graceful like a butterfly. (which is coincidentally her constellation) Ningguang joins the group along with Charlotte, inviting everyone out for dinner.
Kazuha is seen talking with Hu Tao as she listens in happily. Hu Tao then asks Kazuha if Captain Beidou Of The Crux Fleet also plays TCG. Kazuha tells her that she does, and that she's the best amongst the whole crew. Hu Tao then asks if Kazuha could put in a word for her because she is a long time fan of Beidou's but sadly never got the chance to meet her. Kazuha then promises her that he will, and already places his bet on Hu Tao to be the victor for when she does challenge Beidou.
Back at the Crux Fleet, Beidou and Kazuha are seen having a conversation about the Genius Invokation Grand prix. Keeping his promise with Hu Tao, Kazuha tells Beidou that he got to play with Hu Tao, and that she would be more than happy to meet up with Beidou to play a few matches. Beidou is excited to hear this, and then starts to think about how to arrange everything.
Gameplay-wise, Kazuha and Hu Tao are very different. They are both five stars, but they use different elements and weapons. Kazuha has an Anemo vision, and he was able to briefly activate his friend's Electro vision, but Hu Tao has a Pyro vision. Hu Tao is a polearm user while Kazuha is a sword user. When it comes to personality, Kazha and Hu Tao continue to differ. Kazuha is calm and polite, and he was quiet when he first joined the Crux due to the death of his friend. Hu Tao is eccentric and cheerful, and she isn't very liked by people like Chongyun and Qiqi.
Kazuha and Hu Tao both lost relatives since Kazuha's family line died and Hu Tao's grandfather died. The two both became the head of their families. Hu Tao became the director of the Wengsheng Funeral Parlor while Kazuha became a wanderer. Hu Tao has been shown to hate sitting around and doing nothing, so this creates an interesting dynamic between a wanderer and someone who hates staying in one place. Kazuha is also able to sense danger, creating an even more interesting dynamic since Hu Tao often likes to prank people.
The most prominent similarity between Kazuha and Hu Tao is that they are both poets. Kazuha claims to not be very talented at writing poems while Hu Tao is known as one of Liyue's famous poets. Hu Tao has been shown to have become friends with Xingqiu due to them both enjoying poetry.

KazuTao is a rarepair within its fandom. There are a few people that ship KazuTao, but the ship is often overshadowed by more popular ships. On Kazuha's side, KazuScara and TomoKazu overshadow KazuTao, and on Hu Tao's side, YanTao and HuXiao overshadow KazuTao. Fans like to think about what Kazuha and Hu Tao's dynamic would be like as they are both poets but have contrasting personalities. Some think that Hu Tao would be able to make Kazuha feel better about his friend's death since Hu Tao is a funeral parlor director and knows about death. She knows that those who died with regrets linger at the border between life and death, so Kazuha might feel comfort in knowing that his friend didn't have any regrets and likely passed on peacefully.
