- A Shared Suffering
- Both have suffered similar things, since it has been mentioned that Kazuki's parents abandoned him as a child, and Rei has been mistreated by his father since he was a child. Episode 10 shows more of the pain that both have to share by wanting to take care of Miri being hitmen.

- Rei and Kazuki have fought together several times during their jobs, but especially the moment they went to take down the organization.
- Dating What Daddy Hates
- Shigeki, Rei's father, hates Kazuki, as he says that he is “soiling the Suwa blood” and might bring disgrace to their family, but Rei keeps defending Kazuki from him.
- Greater Need Than Mine
- Kazuki normally does everything to make Rei have a better life, and Rei always puta Kazuki's care first than his.
- Hair Contrast Duo
- Kazuki is blonde while Rei has black hair.
- Housewife & Lazy Husband
- Kind-of canon, confirmed by the anime producer Toba Yosuke, which turns out to be Kazuki and Rei respectively. Also episode 7's PV voiceover shows how Kazuki has fully accepted his role as mother, calling Rei "his husband".

- Kazuki normally does everything to make Rei have a better life, and Rei always puts Kazuki's life first than his.

- An interview with the Buddy Daddies Director: I found myself surprisingly fond of these characters, so I'd love if the audience looks at them and goes, "What the hell, are you two a married couple?!"
- Love Is a Weakness
- Rei's father kept repeating him that, and due Rei loving Kazuki and Miri, he put the lives of them in danger.
- Only Friend
- According to Rei's description in the official Buddy Daddies page, due to his gloomy temperament, "Kazuki is likely his only friend" - 私の唯一の友達.
- Opposites Attract
- According to Toba Yosuke, Buddy Daddies producer, "The two of them essentially get along well, but their personalities being direct opposites is easier to work with, so we used that as a base."
- Parenting The Husband
- Especially on episode 7, with also parenting their kid included, which turns out to be quite troublesome for Kazuki at first having to cope with Rei and Miri's mess in the apartment, adding the fact that they didn't even help him. Also episode 8, which revealed how Kazuki fed Rei on their first meeting, and even washed him while he was on his down times.
- Please Don't Leave Me
- In episode 11, Rei and Kazuki are discussing on what to do with Miri, and Kazuki proposses to leave Miri for her safety, but Rei asks him not to and tells him they will find a way for the three of them to be together.
- Rivals to Lovers
- According to the official CD Drama Vol. 1, Kazuki and Rei were in bad terms, since when Kazuki tried to approach him, Rei attacked him and they started fighting until Rei passed away. Even some weeks later after meeting, Rei kept trying to attack Kazuki.
- Ship Tease
- The daycare moms normally started discussing on how Kazuki and Rei got to be together and talked about them behind their backs.
- Sugar and Ice Personality
- While Kazuki is an open-minded and kind person that likes to talk, Rei is a completely shut person who doesn't like to socialize.
- The Only One I Trust
- At the beggining they didn't seem to have verbal trust in each other, but when they were sent to jobs or missions it is seen that Kazuki trusts in Rei's techniques and Rei trusts in Kazuki's plans and ideas. After episode 8, both of them are more verbally opened to each other, as Rei is more opened about his feelings to Kazuki, and Kazuki no longer tries to hide his feelings (especially his sadness) when he's in front of Rei.

- They have been together for a long time and know each other pretty well, and they will have each other's back in any moment

- Kazuki with Rei, and later Rei when he cheers Kazuki.

- Beautiful Dreamer
- In Episode 7, after Kazuki arrives home and watches Rei sleep, he softly smiles
- Because You Were Nice to Me
- Rei to Kazuki: "You didn't matter much to me. But then you suddenly started cleaning […] and it wasn't that bad."
- Declaration of Protection
- Rei Suwa: "If my killer's blood gets in the way of that, and won't let me protect those two (Kazuki and Miri) of them... then these hands have no purpose!"
- Held Gaze
- In episode 11, Rei grabs Kazuki's hand on his collar while he's reasoning with him over thinking a way to help Miri.
- I Gave My Word
- The pinky promise Rei and Miri did, and later he does the same with Kazuki.
- Indirect Kiss
- In episode 10, Miri shares some of her ice cream on the crepe with the same spoon to Kazuki and Rei.
- I Will Definitely Protect You
- Rei to Kazuki, promising that he will come back and even confesses to his that that he will do anything to protect his family.
- You Are Worth Hell
- Rei expressed to Shigeki how his life wouldn't make sense without Kazuki and Miri, and even shots his own arm (being permanently disabled on his right upper limb from all the nerve damages) to prove his father that he would sacrifice anything for both of them.
