KevHua is the friendship between Kevin Kaslana and Fu Hua from the Honkai fandom.
Canon[]
Kevin and Hua were both MANTISes and Flame-Chasers of the Previous Era. Along with Su, they were the only ones to survive to the Current Era and serve as some of the sole insights into the Previous Era before the release of the Elysian Realm.
Previous Era[]
Hua resented Kevin for killing her squad leader, HIMEKO, after she had turned into the 7th Herrscher. But after the defeat of the 12th Herrscher, Hua and Kevin have a moment of mutual despair and understanding. Hua was able to prevent the mind corruption of everyone in the base, though failed to foresee that the Herrscher would take control of the computers and launch nukes. They both sit on the ground in defeat. Kevin says it doesn't matter, as humanity always fails like this. Hua, knowing Kevin's determined nature, is surprised that he said such words. Kevin admits that he never cared for the cause of fighting the Honkai, and joined the MOTHs for selfish reasons. Hua says they're both ordinary people forced on this path, and choose to follow others when they could leave at any time. Thus, Kevin shouldn't blame himself, as he still chooses to stay on this path. Kevin whispers that he blames himself anyway, and Hua doesn't know how to respond. Kevin lifts his head up, saying that they will not give up. Hua agrees, and they stand up.[1]
Kevin and Hua have a conversation one hour before the battle with the Final Herrscher. Hua remarks that she hopes humanity will survive. Kevin assures her that they will, and tells her to look at the Earth as a comfort. Hua then apologizes for her argument with Dr. MEI and the things she said to Kevin, to which replies there's no need, since they are comrades-in-arms. Kevin asks her to promise to fulfill MEI's projects, as they are the seeds for humanity's future and defeating the Honkai.[2]
Before they go into cryogenic sleep, Kevin asks Hua if she still has dreams after becoming a MANTIS. He tells her that he dreams of their comrades who died, and how it makes him hate who he is. Hua understands, and replies that they will live on for a chance to start over. Kevin states that it's not over yet; no matter the cost, humanity shall defeat the Honkai.[3]
