KevMEISu is the poly ship between Kevin Kaslana, Dr. MEI, and Su from the Honkai Impact 3rd fandom.
Canon[]
Previous Era[]
Kevin and Su were best friends in high school. Ever since he transferred to Chiba High, Kevin had a crush on MEI, who ignored him to focus on her studies. But Kevin would continue to get her attention and eventually made his way into her heart.[1]
Once, on a school holiday, Kevin spent his time practicing basketball, since he was athletic but not skilled. Su and MEI find him, with Su exasperated that Kevin is choosing to spend his holiday alone and forgot about their dinner plans. Su thinks that Kevin would be better suited for a sport like swimming or weightlifting. But Kevin explains that he enjoys basketball for the rewarding feeling of victory he can get from it, unlike those other sports. Su finds the sentiment too wishful, and MEI agrees. Though MEI says that despite this, Kevin’s purity is what makes him more likable. Suddenly embarrassed by her honest words, MEI runs off. Su leaves as well to wait for Kevin. Kevin tries shooting the ball one more time and makes it in, though his best friends aren’t there to witness the victory.[2]
These good times are put to an end when the 3rd Honkai Eruption hit Nagazora City. The Fire Moth, an anti-Honkai organization, recruited MEI due to her knowledge and potential. Not wanting to be separated from MEI, Kevin also decided to join the Moths as a soldier.[1] Following the 3rd Eruption, Su did not know what became of his friend Kevin, and became a doctor. Following another Honkai outbreak, Su gets saved by Kevin, learning about his involvement in Fire Moth. Su joins the Fire Moth as well to help fight against the Honkai.
After the defeat of the 8th Herrscher, MEI offered Su to take charge of Project Stigma, a last-resort option that would save humanity by killing the millions of people who were not immune to the Honkai; Although he hated sacrifice, Su accepted.[3] However, at some point, Kevin volunteered to become the executer of Project Stigma instead, as he knew such a destructive project would not be compatible with Su. Su protests that Kevin is bearing the burden of these sacrifices on his own, but Kevin insists that this is a path for him alone. Su tells Kevin that he won't let him go through it alone — MEI assigned him to Project Valuka, and through that he will find a way to defeat the Honkai so that Kevin never has to execute Project Stigma.[4]
In the battle against the Final Herrscher, 8 warriors including Kevin were dispatched on the moon to fight the Herrscher. They were heavily outmatched, but Kevin dealt a blow that immobilized the Herrscher for enough time to have Su enact Project Sanctuary. Upon learning that Kevin survived, Su rushes to MEI to tell her the good news. However, MEI was dying from Honkai sickness. MEI has Su promise to always look out for Kevin and make sure he doesn’t stray from the right path. MEI left Kevin and Su letters, and a test-tube baby made from her and Kevin’s genes. In Kevin's letter, MEI begs him to continue having hope.[1] Su apologizes for being unable to cure MEI, but Kevin tells him it’s not his fault.[5]
Current Era[]
Su remained by Kevin's side, honoring MEI's last request to him. Meanwhile, Kevin was determined to stop the Honkai at any cost, motivated by MEI's last wish for him to have hope. With Project Ember and Project Valuka bearing no success, Kevin prepared to activate Project Stigma. Su decided that this was the time to fulfil his promise to MEI, and so he confronted Kevin in a bubble world within the Second Key.[6] Using the Second Key's 1st Power which MEI granted him, Su planned to sink the bubble world and permanently trap themselves in the Sea of Quanta. Before the way out closed, Kevin threw Su back to the real world, letting himself be trapped and ensuring that Su could continue his mission.[7]
Fanon[]
KevMEISu is a bit of a rarepair. With the amount of femslash ships in the fandom, all-women poly ships are more popular. KevMEISu is mostly seen as a solution for KevinSu shippers due to canonicity of KevinMEI. The amount of KevMEISu shippers that appreciate the dynamic of all three is few and far between, but for a rarepair, there are a good amount of fan works for the ship.
