Kidahontas is the femslash ship between Kida and Pocahontas from the Atlantis: The Lost Empire and Pocahontas fandoms.
Canon[]
As Pocahontas and Kida are from different series, they have never met in canon. Pocahontas, as an official member of the "Disney Princess" brand, is present in Ralph Breaks the Internet. Although Kida is also a princess, she does not make an appearance. However, seeing as other Disney characters are featured in the Oh My Disney scene of the movie, it is possible that Kida may exist off-screen. This would provide a psuedo-canon way for the two to have met.
Pocahontas and Kida share many similarities with one another. They are both indigenous women; Pocahontas indigenous to the Americas and Kida indigenous to Atlantis. They both fall in love with a white explorer who comes to their world. They both have a single father that is the leader of their people, which solidifies them as "princesses". Pocahontas has a magical connection to nature and the wind, whereas Kida has a magical connection to the Heart of Atlantis. At the end of their respective movies they each choose to stay in their home land, although only Kida stays with her canonical love interest.
Fanon[]
Kidahontas is not such a popular ship within each of the characters' respective fandoms. This is mainly due to the fact that the ship is often overshawoded by the characters' most popular ships. And because crossover ships are usually less popular than the canon ships. However, this is one of Pocahontas' oldest ships, with fan works who were uploaded even 15 years ago. The oldest Kidahontas videos already shows a pattern that would repeat in most fan works of the ship. They usually are in each others' universes. Either it all takes place in Pocahontas' or Kida takes Pocahontas to meet her own. The video in question, created by XxChesireKatx in 2009, shows a forbidden love story between the two characters. Both of their families don't allow them to be together, so they meet in secret. In one of those encounters, Kida excitedly shows Pocahontas her latest discovery, a ship. That ship turns out to be the colonizers', who invade Kida and Pocahontas' land. Pocahontas' curiosity leads her to meet John Smith, and when Kida finds this out, she feels betrayed and sacrificies herself to the gods, because of the pain. However, the two end up reuniting again afterwards.
This sort of themes of forbidden love are common in earlier fan works of the ship. Such as the one by user highgreenbunny, where Kida confesses her feelings to Pocahontas. Pocahontas is apprehensive at first due to the fact that they're both women, and from different communities. However, she also realizes she has feelings for Kida and the two start a loving relationship.
In newest fan works, the two are in love triangles with other characters, such as Nakoma or Kocoum. And in some others, they're even in other universes that are not their own, such as ones from other Disney movies, like mermaid AUs.
