Kiraether is the het ship between Aether and Kirara from the Genshin Impact fandom.
Canon[]
Kirara is a nekomata from Konamiya Express in Inazuma. Like Aether, she has to travel to fulfill her duties. She doesn't appear in the main Inazuma Archon Quests, but she appears in side events where she has interactions with Aether.
Cisoria Chapter: Chiori's Story Quest[]
Kirara is first mentioned when Aether was having business with Chiori, a designer from the Chioriya Boutique. Chiori also mentions that she is waiting for the shipment from Inazuma that she entrusted to her. Kirara finally arrives in person, but late with the delivery.
Chiori asks her what went wrong, and Kirara is initially hesitant to tell, but her tails betray her expressions. She admits that she was bested by bandits who were ordered to target a courier with two tails. Chiori assumes that the one who ordered the ambush on Kirara was Uther, a jealous man who wants to sabotage Chiori's business. While Chiori goes personally to investigate Uther's place, Kirara asks Aether and Paimon to follow Chiori to ensure she doesn't go out of bounds, as she's worried that the negative publicity would harm her chances at the fashion show.
Much later, Aether sees how Chiori tells Kirara that she will be protected in Fontaine by both the Special Patrol and Spina di Rosul, an organization led by Navia. Kirara at first refuses, but she finally accepts under Chiori's insistance.
Duel! The Summoners' Summit![]
Kirara appears for the second time, this time in Liyue, in the middle of Aether and Kazuha's matters. She tells them about the state of Konamiya Express and she is surprised seeing a fellow Inazuman there. Kirara asks Aether and Paimon to lead her to the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor since she doesn't know much about Liyue.
Arriving at the location, Kirara reveals that she actually had a pending deliver to Hu Tao, the Director of the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor. After completing the delivery, Kirara says goodbye to Aether and Paimon.

They Once Walked the Starry Sky[]
Nilou, Aether and Paimon plan to travel to Constellation Metropole by taking the Maritime Express. As they are about to get on the train, a voice is heard from inside one of the carriages. The voice turns out to be Kirara, who had slept in the train overnight. When she wakes up, Kirara becomes excited about Aether and Paimon finding her and soon she also meets Nilou. After a short conversation, Traveler, Paimon and Nilou leave for Constellation Metropole. Kirara decides to go as well and asks Aether to explore with her an area that she saw the day before when they finished all the matters in the Constellation Metropole. Once the train arrives, Kirara splits ways with the others to investigate the area until Aether returns alone.
Narration Footnotes[]
Presumably after finishing his matters in the Constellation Metropole with Nilou and Navia, Aether returns alone to Kirara's place. They decide to explore together the said area. They find a "sinked" house. In there, Kirara says that she wouldn't sleep there. A mysterious voice is heard which seems to be excited to narrate the events. According to the narrator, the place awaits for the arrival of a "marquis". As the enter deeper in the cave, Aether and Kirara meet three living puppets. Cappet, Albizzi and Boborano, who are currently arguing about which story is the "absoulte true story" even though these are contradicting themselves... Kirara becomes mad when they call her a "cat" when she insists that she is not even a cat, she is a nekomata.
After going to three places, everyone is surprised when Aether, Kirara and the puppets find that the three stories, even contradicting themselves, are true. All of them are created by the Goddess of Creation.
The next day, Aether and Kirara find something which seems like a crime scene: Cappet is seen unconscious in the ground and Albizzi blaming Boborano for that. A detective appears and everyone start finding clues... Aether, with the help of a Magic Key, they reconstruct the crime scene and they learn that the detective itself is the true culprit of this crime.
The Detective tries to escape the most far possible, out of Aether's capabilities of catching him, but Kirara manages to pursue him succesfully. Kirara feels that they are underestimating her abilities as the Konamiya Express as she climbs where the Detective does.
Finally when the Detective surrenders, he reveals that he is the narrator all the time. Aether and Kirara lead the surrendered detective back to Cappet.
Until the End of the World[]
Aether again is in the middle of his matters with Nilou and Navia, this time, accompanied by the Wanderer, formerly known as Scaramouche. They are on a journey to find an evil dragon causing troubles to Simulanka. But Aether is unaware that Kirara is following them. The Wanderer saved Aether's group 2 times, but he refuses to make further attempts to save them if they fall. So, when the Wanderer goes to find the whereabouts of the evil dragon after defeating it, the ground crumbles again and Aether falls again, but this time, Kirara transforms into her cat form with her box and saves Aether.
They land in a study, filled with letters written by the three goddesses of Simulanka. Traveler comes across a glowing book, which they open. Nilou and Kirara discuss how the book shows the dragon of Simulanka's past, Durin. They spot him hiding behind a statue, and talk him out of hiding. Durin reveals his true wish is to co-exist with the people of Simulanka, and Nilou gives him her blessing to do so. Navia, Kirara, Wanderer and Traveler all follow along to do the same. After Durin gains his new form, everyone heads back up to the island.
Appendix[]
Some time later, Aether meets up with Collei, who says that something is going on in Sumeru that is keeping people in high spirits. Kirara leaves Simulanka, returning to Inazuma. Upon meeting her again, Aether can talk to Kirara about the recent adventure, her new clothes and what she plans about her future...
Fanon[]
This ship shifts between being a mildly popular ship and being a rare pair rivaled by other Aether's straight Inazuman ships. A reason is that Kirara does not appear in the main Archon Quests and she only appears in side events, not mentioning that none of her voicelines from her data or the Serenitea Pot says any "compliment" that motivates the fans to ship them. Another reason is that despite Kirara being one of the most popular female characters from Inazuma, her ship with Aether is overwhelmed in popularity by the tradition of the "Swordgirls", by the fact that Ayather is the most popular Aether's ship in Inazuma, because of Ayaka's relevance in the Inazuma Archon Quests. Even Aemiya shows more popularity than Kiraether. On Kirara's side, some fans prefer Kiragorou (Kirara & Gorou) and Kirazor (Kirara & Razor).
