Kirinami is the femslash ship between Chiaki Nanami and Kyoko Kirigiri from the Danganronpa fandom.
Canon[]
Kyoko is a character from Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc and Chiaki is a character from Super Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair. As such, they have never met in canon. Although Kyoko does make an appearance in Danganronpa 2, this is after Chiaki's execution and so they do not share the screen together. However, prior to the Tragedy, both girls would have attended Hope's Peak Academy at the same time. Chiaki was in Class 77, and Kyoko was in Class 78. Although we never see them interact in the anime Danganronpa 3: The End of Hope's Peak High School, we can presume that the two met, or at least knew of each other, off-screen.
Kyoko and Chiaki share two interactions in the non-canonical Ultimate Talent Development Plan. In their first interaction, they meet at the Sports Festival and Kyoko teaches Chiaki how to tie a proper knot for a three-legged race. Since they are playing on opposing teams, Chiaki wonders if a "passionate rivalry" will form between them. In their second interaction, Kyoko and Chiaki meet in the hallway when Chiaki returns to her dormitory during a class Christmas party. They do not interact with each other in the non-canonical Danganronpa S: Ultimate Summer Camp.
Kyoko and Chiaki play very similar roles in their respective games. They are each seen as the "support" character to the protagonist, providing support both emotionally and in solving trials. They can both be seen as "mysterious", or are known for withholding the truth. Kyoko withholds the truth about her talent and Chiaki withholds the truth about her role as the traitor. While Kyoko survives her killing game, Chiaki is executed for the murder of Nagito Komaeda.
Fanon[]
Kirinami are drawn together in fan art more than they are written together in fanfiction. This is likely because they do not interact with each other canonically, but they are very similar character archetypes. They are sometimes also drawn with Kaede Akamatsu, the female support character from Danganronpa v3: Killing Harmony.
This ship is considered to be a rarepair. It's main rivals are Kyoko and Chiaki's canonical ships, Naegiri and Hinanami. On AO3, Kirinami currently has a little less than 25 works.
