Kitty Section is the friendship between Rose Lavillant, Juleka Couffaine, Luka Couffaine, and Ivan Bruel from the Miraculous Ladybug fandom.
Canon[]
Kitty Section is the name of the band that is originally made up of Rose Lavillant as signer and songwriter, the Couffaine twins, Juleka and Luka, on guitars and Ivan Bruel on drums. Later, Juleka moves from guitar to bass. Marinette Dupain-Cheng helps the group out by designing costumes, making promotional t-shits and such, and even records them playing to help the band get noticed for their big break. From time to time Adrien Agreste has served as their guest keyboard player, and after Luka's move from Paris Nino Lahiffe served as the temporary lead guitarist. The group like to jam with others as well, like Mrs. Couffaine and Jagged Stone.
The band is first introduced in the second season, alongside the introduction of Luka Couffaine. They are preparing to perform their first concert, and Marinette is sent to find Luka so that the band can rehearse. Later, the band decides to try and create a music video so that they can be signed by Bob Roth. Unfortunately, Bob decides to take the music video and rip it off as a new song for his son, XY, to perform. The group is completely discouraged by this, but Marinette insists that they fight back. Ivan, Rose, and Juleka create a distraction so that Marinette and Luka can get into the studio and confront Bob. He refuses to admit to what he's done wrong, and the anger of seeing his bandmates suffer causes Luka to become akumatized. After he is saved, and they trick Bob into admitting what he's done, Kitty Section is invited to play on TV.
Kitty Section helps Adrien confess his feelings to Marinette in Season 5. He writes a song for her, and the members of the band encourage him to sing it. Rose takes over as pianist for Adrien's song, and other friends and classmates join in on the performance as well.
Later on, Bob Roth arrives on the Couffaine houseboat searching for Jagged Stone. When he hears Kitty Section play, he offers them a contract. While Mrs. Couffaine warns them against signing it, Luka decides that this will be a great opportunity for the band. He signs the contract, but is quickly dismayed when Bob fires everyone from the band, except for Luka. He explains that Luka is the only one that he really wanted, and this was the only way to get him. Luka is incensed by this, and insists he needs the rest of Kitty Section. When Bob refuses, Luka replies that he won't play without them. He tells Bob he'll never make music again, if that's what it comes down to. This nearly causes Luka to get akumatized, but he fights it off. In the end, his mother helps him rip up the contract and Kitty Section is free to continue performing.
The band gets together to help make Adrien and Marinette's first kiss as romantic as possible. This is Nino's first appearance as a member of the band, although he doesn't actually know how to play guitar. They encourage Adrien and Marinette to pursue their romance, but both are made uncomfortable by the whole scene. At the end of the year, Kitty Section is asked to play live at the end-of-year dance.
Kitty Section is shown to be very supportive of each other, wanting each member to better themselves both musically and outside of the band. When Adrien joined them as a temporary pianist and thought poorly of his own performance, the band members encouraged him to keep trying. Even when not a focal point of an episode, the students of Miss Bustier's class are often seen hanging around on the houseboat while Kitty Section either practices or puts on a concert. When Luka was hurt by Marinette's rejection of his feelings, the band (and others) were seen comforting him with a hug.

Kitty Section is a relatively popular group dynamic in the fandom. It is often utilized in fanworks that revolve around Julerose, as they are one of the most popular ships in the show, and are both members of Kitty Section. Other times Kitty Section exists in an Alternate Universe where they are a famous band and other characters, like Marinette and Adrien, are big fans. This is a popular trope in Lukanette fanworks, which rely on the famous singer/normal girl idea.
There are over 50 works on AO3 tagged with "Kitty Section", and 4 works tagged as a friendship between the four main members of the group. Fans like to add other members to the group from time to time as well, including canon members such as Adrien and Nino, or non-canon members such as Nathaniel Kurtzberg or Mylène Haprèle.
