Knightshade is the het ship between Jaune Arc and Blake Belladonna from the RWBY fandom.
Canon[]
Jaune and Blake first met in volume 1 when teams RWBY and JNPR were all lost and met each other in the forest. In volume 2 Jaune almost revealed to the entire library that Blake was a faunus before Pyrrha quickly put a hand over his mouth. Blake then proceeds to scowl at him and gets up to leave. The two are then seen again together in volume 3 episode 1 with their respective teams. They all then decide to have lunch together before their next matches.
In the next episode Jaune is seen cheering on Blake and the rest of team RWBY during their match and Blake does the same with Jaune and his team during their match. The two then don't see each other again until the last episode of volume 5. When Blake goes to hug her teammates, Jaune is shown afterwards smiling at them happy to see them reunited. In volume 6, episode 7 When team JNR and team RWBY are reunited after being separated Blake runs up to Jaune and they side hug each other while smiling. In the next episode when the truth is revealed about Ozpin and Salem to team JNR Jaune gets angry and loudly exclaims that everything they did was for nothing, Blake responds with saying that's not true. In an episode of rwby chibi, Jaune gets angry at Blake for leaving her books on the ground, which then caused him to slip and break his ankle. In another episode Jaune and Blake are quietly reading together, when Jaune starts an awkward conversation with her, while sitting next to her.
In volume 9, chapter 5 Jaune as the Rusted Knight saves Blake and the others from the Jabberwalker. Blake then afterwards gets excited to finally meet the Rusted Knight, a character from a story she greatly admires. When Jaune turns around and reveals to her that he's the Rusted Knight she is noticeably shocked. In chapter 6, Jaune realizes he has finally found team RWBY he gives Blake and the rest of them a group hug, while getting teary eyed. She then asks him how he's the Rusted Knight.
Later Jaune tells them he can't believe that they've made it this far on their own, to which Blake responds that they had help from the cat. Jaune then gets angry at her and asks "What cat?", when he then sees the curious cat he tries to lunge at it with Blake stopping him. She then tells him there must be a misunderstanding and that the cat can get them out of here. Jaune then gets angry at Blake again when she tells him that the cat is taking them to the tree, for that's how Alyx escaped this world. When Ruby asks Jaune where Yang and Blake are during the punderstorm he rolls his eyes and says they must've had bigger things to work out.
In the next episode, Blake calls out to him right before he takes off for his village. Blake later asks Jaune what he's been looking for when he shows her the map. She then later sympathetically says that Jaune has been through a lot, and that he clearly needs them. Her and Jaune later get into an argument about the Afterans and the Tree with Blake wanting them to go and Jaune wanting them to stay. Later when the paper pleasers "die" Jaune falls to the ground and breaks down crying. Blake immediately runs after him and kneels down beside him putting her hand on his back. She then comforts him and tells him that the paper pleasers aren't dead and that they'll come back.

Knightshade is a rarepair within the rwby fandom. While it's fanbase is small it is very dedicated. Many people think Blake and Jaune have many similarities. They both seem to like books, and in the beginning are the socially awkward, nerds of their respective groups. These two are also similar in that they're used to the feeling of not being good enough, watching their friends take a hit for them while they feel powerless to do anything. One feels hopeless born out of the feeling of weakness, while the other out of the feeling of cowardice. Time and time again they watched the people they care for get hurt while they could do nothing to prevent that. It has a small fanbase on tumblr.

Trivia[]
- Their ship name is a pun on the word nightshade. nightshade is a type of plant that has poisonous black berries. Jaune is a knight and shade is the colour black like Blake's name.
- Jaune's voice actor and Blake's voice actress used to be in a relationship in real life.
- Jaune's favourite story is The Girl who fell through the World and it is assumed that it's one of Blake's favourite's as well since she seems to know the story so well.
