KokuNaki is the het ship between Kokushibo/Michikatsu Tsugikuni and Nakime from the Demon Slayer fandom.
Canon[]
Little is known about the relationship between Kokushibo and Nakime except that they're allies, work together, and serve under Muzan Kibutsuji. Kokushibo holds the highest rank among the Upper Moon at Rank 1, while Nakime had replaced Hantengu and now hold the position of Upper Rank 4.
Although Kokushibo and Nakime have limited interactions, they share several similarities. Both are reserved and composed individuals who have minimal engagement with their fellow Upper Ranks. They are also formidable demons, with Nakime possessing one of the most potent Blood Demon Arts and Kokushibo being the most dominant Upper Moon overall. Muzan favors both Kokushibo and Nakime due to their unwavering loyalty to him and the benefits they provide to him.
Their only major “interaction” occurred during the Upper Moon Meeting in Chapter 98. When Akaza arrived early, he questioned Nakime about the whereabouts of Upper Rank 1, Kokushibo, to which Nakime later announces that Kokushibo had been summoned first and that he had been there since the meeting's commencement. It was mentioned that the two hold mutual respect for each other. Kokushibo finds Nakime's biwa playing to be soothing, while Nakime acknowledges Kokushibo's strength.
Kimetsu Gakuen[]
In Kimetsu Gakuen, the two are both spies for Muzan. Nakime became the vice-principal to help Muzan. While Kokushibo is Muzan's secretary.
Fanon[]
KokuNaki is a fairly popular ship in the fandom. Many fans like to imagine that in their free time, the two sit together as Nakime plays her biwa and Kokushibo relaxes to it. Fans headcanon that Nakime and Kokushibo are the only “sane Upper Moons” because they are both more calm and reserved, which would them to develop a closer bond. Fans of the ship tend to joke about the fact that Kokushibo could “lend” Nakime his eyes due to Kokushibo having an unnecessary amount of eyes while Nakime is a cyclops and lacks one. Though, KokuNaki could still be considered a rarepair due to the pairing receiving criticism quite often. There are not many fanfics of the two. The ship is overshadowed by KokuZan and NaDaki, which are possibly more popular ships for the two of them.
Other fans dislike the ship, saying it wouldn't make sense. Considering the fact that they are demons or because of Nakime's backstory, which lead to her disliking men. However, fans argue that the two of them trust and respect it each other. Though, fans say they should focus on their job, not love. Some fans make an AU where they are both hashira, and can actually love each other, since most Demons don't feel love and/or emotion.
