The only interaction shared by these three as a trio is during Hajime's first meeting of Gundham. During this interaction, Nagito translates a few of Tanaka's more eccentric questions to Hinata. At this point in time, Komaeda seems to admire Gundham's breeding talent, but both he and Hinata are somewhat polarized by Gundham's eccentric behavior.
Hajime and Gundham alike are two of the students who make an effort to understand Komaeda's morals, Hajime during his free time events with Komaeda and Gundham in a passing statement about Nagito's grey morality.
Hajime is also one of the only students who makes an effort to understand Gundham, effectively shaking his hand and befriending him at the conclusion of his free time events.
Komaeda's affections towards Hajime and respect of Gundham's talent disappear during the Fourth Chapter after he learns the truth of the students of Class 77-B. He grows cold to both of them, as well as the other students in his class. During this same chapter, both Hinata and Komaeda convict Gundham and send him to his execution.
During chapter five, Komaeda's antics end in his elaborate suicide, with which he attempted to take the rest of his classmates' lives, Hajime included.
While the three fail to interact during the events of the third anime, Komaeda's admiration of Hajime's hope extends throughout the latter's life as Izuru Kamakura.
At the end of Despair Arc, all three become the Ultimate Despair with the rest of their class.
The ship sailed due to the similarities between Gundham and Nagito, as well as the similarities between their relationships with Hajime. Since Hajime makes an effort into understanding both his strange classmates, and Gundham expresses his own understanding of Komaeda's morals, some believe that the trio would make an interesting polyship.
Some believe that the balance between the trio's relationships, moral standings and behaviors would create a solid and positive outcome.
Komahinaka spread in an underground movement of shippers who liked both Hinadam and Roulette, though the ship never peaked in popularity. The semi-canon status of Hinadam and Komahina only fueled the ship further.
- Gundham and Komaeda were the only two students to compete in and complete the Final Dead Room, however, Hajime came close to doing the same thing before he was stopped by Chiaki Nanami.
