Kriselle is the non-binary ship between Kris Dreemurr and Noelle Holiday from the Deltarune fandom.

Canon

Backstory

Kris and Noelle are estranged childhood friends and classmates of Alphys' class. Growing up the two would play together along with their siblings. Kris would often prank Noelle, scaring her by putting ketchup on their arms and pretending it was human blood, hiding under her bed to scare her, shaking the ferris wheel cart once they were at the top, and making her believe ICE-E is a monster who eats children. Kris would also show kindness to Noelle giving her gifts. Kris also used to come to her house nearly every day. They'd play with Noelle and then suddenly go still, before leaving the room to go play the piano. Kris stopped playing whenever they noticed Noelle watching them, so Noelle would lie in the living room listening to them. Noelle wonders if Kris was thinking about her in those moments, or if they just came to use her piano. But when closing her eyes, Noelle felt as if it were a concert just for her. The two would later drift apart after the disappearance of Dess Holiday or the divorce of Toriel and Asgore. Despite their estrangement they are the only other person aside from her father to whom she can confide in, as well as show her weirder side to in the real world.

Chapter 1

Upon unexpectedly arriving to class Alphys tell Kris to find a partner for the group project. Kris asks Noelle to be their partner but Noelle will already be partnered with Berdly, Noelle asks Alphys if they could form a group of three only to be rebuffed by Berdly and failing to speak up. Later that day, Kris can visit Rudy at the hospital and ask about Noelle. Rudy will mention her fears including her fear of humans under her bed, which was just Kris waiting to scare her, Rudy will ask Kris to keep an eye on her as he currently can't protect her. Meeting Noelle later outside her house Noelle will ask if Kris needed help with their homework having prepared material beforehand just in case they need it. If The Player chooses to continue speaking to Noelle she will notice something is off about Kris as they are usually not very talkative and question why they visited her father in the hospital.

Chapter 2

Normal Route

After class, Noelle startles Kris and Susie by walking up to them just as they are preparing to enter the Dark World to invite them to study at the Library with her and Berdly. She then asks Kris to bring Susie later Library. When Kris and Susie do actually go study with them there, it becomes apparent that Noelle and Berdly had fallen into a (new) Dark World. In the Cyber World, Noelle is captured by Queen, who intends to recruit Noelle to her cause of world domination. At the end of the Cyber Field, Noelle is pitted against Kris and the party on a roller coaster, but promptly replaced by the more eager-to-please Berdly. Noelle escapes and attempts to hide from Queen.In Cyber City once Kris meets up with Noelle she will ask if they can a truce if The Player chooses No Triple Trucies instead of Of Course Kris will speak the words with jovial tone allowing Noelle to join the party. Into the city The Player can interact with an advertisement for a giant Ferris Wheel. Noelle will wonder if Susie would want to ride it with her, The Player can answer I will ride with you, Noelle will refuse thinking Kris is setting up to prank her and shake the Ferris Wheel cart like when they were children at the festival. Interacting with the Pink Addison in the area he will see the two alone and think they're dating, Noelle will correct him saying they're just friends but is unable to tell if they are actually friends despite being neighbors for as long as they can remember and knowing each other better than anyone. The Player can confirm that the two are friends making Noelle happy affirming their friendship or choose We're something more it is unknown how Kris answers this.

Continuing forward to the first electric barrier The Player can play a trick on Noelle by stepping off switch before she reaches the barrier, she will tell Kris to stay on the switch and as if they need a dog treat or something. Kris answer playfully if The Player answers Nooooo choosing to howl the answer, if The Player chooses Yes Kris will answer genuinely wanting a dog treat. If The Player attempts to play the trick on Noelle by stepping off the switch as soon as she reaches the barrier she will get back at Kris by playing the same trick on them laughing at the look on their face, Kris will look hurt possibly from not liking to take pranks to such a dangerous level. Deeper into the city Kris and Noelle will reach the DECEMBER puzzle room, Noelle will begin to reminisce about her sister and how they along with Kris and Asriel would often play together and explore the forest behind the graveyard, despite crying the entire time Noelle admits she doesn't mind being scared as long as someone is there to comfort her. Noelle will comment on how Kris is the only one who knows how weird she is. At the milk bottle toss booths after Queen hands Kris the gift, The Player can choose to have Kris give the gift to Noelle. If the gift is given to Noelle she will comment on how Kris hasn't given her a gift like that since they were little kids and wonders if this is Kris saying they want things to go back to how they were before, before promptly thinking that Kris just wants a refund instead. After that, Kris and Noelle team up with Susie and Ralsei; and later are captured by Queen. Kris and Noelle don't have any moments together after that moment, but they eventually meet up again and with the help of the others defeat Queen. Later, when the Dark Fountain is sealed, Noelle waves a cheerful goodbye to Kris as she leaves the Library. Kris (and Susie) can later visit her at the hospital, where she will be playing Dragon Blazers with her father, Rudy;

Weird Route

On the Snowgrave Route, Kris, controlled by the player, uses their time with Noelle (in Cyber City) to help her become "stronger" through killing enemies with her Iceshock spell. Noelle is then coaxed into stealing the Freeze Ring from a shopkeeper, causing her to become more ambivalent towards killing enemies, subsequently becoming brainwashed into thinking Kris is making her stronger.

Eventually, Kris and Noelle encounter Berdly, whom Noelle initially does not recognize. Berdly, who becomes worried for Noelle's well-being, engages in a battle, and the player forces Noelle to use SnowGrave, a spell she does not know. This causes Berdly to become encased in a massive ice crystal. After this, Noelle leaves the party in a depressed daze, and is not seen again (except for a short interaction she has with Susie off-screen) until she seemingly finishes off Spamton NEO with an ice attack. Kris seals the Dark Fountain alone, and the party wakes up in the computer lab. Berdly does not wake up.

Noelle has different dialogue in the hospital. She is more controlling of the game she plays with Rudy, and suggests using IceShock on the Ice Palace boss (in comparison to suggesting Fireshock in the normal route). When she and Kris leave the room, she begins to question whether or not the events that happened earlier were real or not, eventually finding out they were real (especially if Kris is wearing her watch afterwards).

Chapter 4

Normal Route

The day after closing the TV World, Toriel takes Kris and Susie to mass, where Noelle sings in the choir. Once service is over, Kris asks around for clues about the code to the Shelter. When interacting with Noelle, they can compliment her singing, which surprises her since Kris never complimented her before. She says Kris can join on the piano, and that she misses hearing them play. When asking about the Key, Noelle thinks Kris is saying that she was off-key. Asking about the Locked door makes Noelle talk about the times she got locked out of her own house, which is when Noelle would stay over at Kris's house or they would help break her into her room. She mentions that her mother, Mayor Holiday, never kept a key or anything important at City Hall, a useful clue to figuring out the code.

Once Kris relays the information to Susie, she invites herself and Kris over to Noelle's house to work on their school projects. At Noelle's house, the player can interact with items in their search for clues. Interacting with Noelle's desk leads Kris to take a pencil out of habit. Interacting with Carol's collection of red heart-shaped pillows leads Noelle to recall when Kris would pretend to rip their heart out and chase her when they they were kids. After the study session starts, Susie throws Noelle's phone, giving an opportunity for Kris to search the house by themself.

The player finds the Shelter code on Dess's guitar, but Kris rips out the soul before they can fully read it, then puts it in the storage closet. The soul turns off the power in the house, then eventually makes its way back to Dess's room. Before it can look at the guitar, Kris throws a puck at it, making a noise that alerts the two girls. Kris hides in the closet, while Noelle and Susie wait to see if they hear any noise again. Noelle tells Susie about her "dream." On the subject of Kris, Noelle says that they they they were not acting like their normal self, the same as how they've been acting recently. She describes Kris looking at her, as if they wanted to say something, but all the words that came out of their mouth sounded odd, as if on speaker. Once the soul gets the guitar, the girls hear the noise, and Susie takes the guitar from the closet, covering for Kris. Kris puts the soul back in their body, and leave the house after Carol kicks Susie out.

Weird Route

The night after their journey to the Cyber World, Kris sneaks out to Noelle's porch. Noelle could not sleep, terrified that the events of her "dream" were real. Kris placed their hand on her wrist and apologized, assuring her that Berdly is going to get better. Noelle recognized Kris's true voice, out of influence from the player, and teared up, having missed their voice. Afterwards, Kris pulled the Thorn Ring off of her finger, and tells her not to mention any of this the next time they see each other because it will get heard (by the player).

When talking to Noelle after church, she tells Kris that she appreciates them checking on her. Unlike the main route, the player only has the option to ask Noelle about the Key, and they have to get the information by asking Rudy. Noelle is the one to invite Kris and Susie over to her house for their study session. Susie notes that it's weird that Noelle asked them, but is happy that their plan worked out so easily. However, Kris seems to not be happy about this, and doesn't return Susie's high-five.

At the start of the study session, Susie makes an excuse for Kris to wander off alone. After Kris takes out the soul, Noelle approaches them, asking to talk alone in her room. Kris places the soul in the storage closet and goes to talk to her. The player moves through the vents and eavesdrops on them. Noelle recalls their encounter on the porch where Kris apologized to her, and thanks them. She asks if she can ask about something else, giving the opportunity for the player to use the choice options in the dialogue box and move into the room, to possess Kris again. Noelle wants to ask what Kris meant when they didn't want someone to hear about their conversation that night. Kris, struggling to move, puts their on over Noelle's mouth to stop her from talking. Noelle assures Kris that it's just the two of them in the room, but they continue to cover her mouth. When Noelle asks who is going to hear, the player can stay silent or answer "Me." Answering the latter causes a chill to come across the room, as Noelle realizes the weird voice has taken control of Kris again. She backs away, wondering why the voice is back. The player directly responds to her thoughts, scaring Noelle even further. The player proceeds to take the Thorn Ring and approach Noelle. With Noelle too terrified to move, the player grabs her wrist and re-equips the Thorn Ring. The screen turns black, and several lines emit from where the thorn is impaled, like shattered glass. Afterwards, in an furious haze, Kris throws the soul into the bathroom trash can and repeatedly kicks it. They stop once Asgore alerts them that Carol wants everyone to leave the house.

In the church dark world, when Ralsei asks Kris to close their eyes to see what Susie is doing, the player can choose to think about Noelle instead. Thinking about Noelle shows only a red dot in a black screen. Noelle slowly says thank you and then the screen flashes red. This experience caused Kris to start breathing heavily and fall to the ground.

At the end of the chapter, Kris receives a phone call from Carol, telling them that Noelle is really looking forward to seeing them at the festival tomorrow.

Fanon

Kriselle began with a small following with Chapter 1, thanks to Kris and Noelle's status as neighbors and childhood friends. The ship since gained steady support after the release of Chapter 2 with Noelle revealing to The Player that the two have known each other their whole lives and know each other better than anyone. This has left fans of this pairing are curious to know what caused the two's friendship to drift apart and hope the two do reconnect down the line. The discovery of the hidden Weird Route in Chapter 2 has spawned a seemingly darker and less romantically inclined depiction of the pair portraying Kris and/or The Player as being possessive of Noelle, with Noelle as a far more submissive follower. This darker depiction of the two has been portrayed in several AUs such as AfterGrave by gamethesoldier, SnowHeart by wickedcriminal, and SoulGrave by deltarune-au-domain.

Trivia

• When a Choco Diamond is consumed by Noelle outside of battle she will share half of it with Kris.
• When using Kris Tea on Noelle she will comment "Tastes like cinnamon! (What is this aftertaste...?)" a scent that would bring her comfort. Noelle Tea heals 70HP to Kris and Kris Tea equally heals 70HP to Noelle.
• Noelle is one of the few people who seem to have noticed that there isn't something right with Kris as they are the only person currently to truly know them.
• The Chapter 4 Weird Route scene of re-equipping the Thorn Ring was changed twice. On release, it was represented by a rose losing its petals, which many interpreted to be "deflowering" or a sexual assault allegory. In v.0.0.086, the visual was changed to a red dot, likely because sexual assault interpretation was not the intended meaning. In v.0.0.088, the visual was changed again to the current version, where red lines akin to shattered glass emit.
• When using the Shadow Crystal in Noelle's house, the text will say, "You thought you saw Noelle close against you, whispering. You put the glass to your ear... ...of course, that didn't do anything..."
