Kuzkronk is the slash ship between Kuzco and Kronk from The Emperor's New Groove fandom.
Canon[]
Overview[]
Kronk initially started off as the assistant to Yzma, royal advisor of Kuzco's father. After Kuzco's father mysteriously disappeared on a journey overseas, Kuzco became the new acting emperor and Kronk was grandfathered in as the assistant royal advisor. Emperor Kuzco thought very little of Kronk, seeing him as nothing more than the meathead bozo who hung out with his wrinkly old advisor all the time, and was too self-absorbed to entertain any further thoughts about him. Kronk's impact on Kuzco's life would grow stronger when he got involved with Yzma's plans to kill Kuzco and overthrow the empire for herself, as seen in The Emperor's New Groove. Despite this supposed bitter rivalry, Kronk admired Kuzco as a person and didn't have the heart to kill him, as per Yzma's requests, hence why he sabotaged her plans multiple times. Kronk became even more prominent in Kuzco's everyday life in "The Emperor's New School", when Kuzco was sent back to school at Kuzco Academy, where he was classmates with Kronk. Despite Kronk still working for Yzma, supporting her vendetta to have him killed, Kuzco was still casual friends with Kronk and they were common frenemies throughout the year. By the end of the school year, Kronk betrayed Yzma once and for all to save Kuzco and help him to become emperor again. Upon reclaiming his throne, Emperor Kuzco enlisted Kronk to be his new royal advisor from then on, now having a new outlook on him as a person.
The Emperor's New Groove[]
Kronk was tasked by Yzma to poison Kuzco, so he fixed up a fine cuisine for him, and planned to spike his drink with Yzma's poison. Unfortunately for Yzma, Kronk accidentally spiked the drink with extract of llama, thanks to a labeling error on the bottle. Their backup plan was for Kronk to stuff Kuzco into a burlap sack and throw him off a waterfall. However, he couldn't bring himself to do it out of the goodness of his heart. Instead, he thought the proper way to dispose of Kuzco would be to pass him off to Pacha. Yzma was infuriated to know that Kronk went against orders again. He was later ordered to kill Kuzco with a dagger, but just like before, he couldn't bring himself to do it and he used the dagger to cut a rope to a chandelier to crush Yzma instead, only for this plan to fail.
Kronk's New Groove[]
Kuzco stops the show and tells the audience that this movie's story is going to be about Kronk, rather than himself. Despite claiming to not have a role in the movie, Kuzco does return in a supporting role at the climax of the film. Kuzco is one of the numerous different men who goes in drag, pretending to be Kronk's wife.
The Emperor's New School[]
Kronk attended high school with Kuzco as a classmate and an occasional friend. Despite Kronk's friendliness with Kuzco, he still lived a double life as Yzma's assistant, helping her with her various plans to get rid of Kuzco for good. These plans mostly involved potions that would turn him into animals. Kronk would occasionally offer Kuzco food and drinks with potions inside, under the guise of friendliness, and Kuzco would constantly fall for this. However, he eventually grew wary of these tricks, meaning that Kronk had to think of more clever ways to get him to ingest the potion. Ultimately, just like in the movie, Kronk's kindness would trump his villainous ways, and he would oftentimes betray Yzma to save and support Kuzco. Kuzco was still a pretty mean friend to Kronk, like he was with most other people in his life, making fun of him, stealing from him, and treating him like garbage time and time again. However, this was pretty justified, given that Kronk was always trying to help Yzma destroy him.
In the series finale, "Graduation Groove", Kuzco became emperor again, thanks Kronk's final betrayal of Yzma. After becoming emperor, Kuzco appointed Kronk to be his new royal advisor, knowing that he could trust him.
Fanon[]
Kronk and Kuzco were shown to have an interesting love/hate relationship throughout the series. Fans admire this, but some wish they would focus more on the "love" part. So much so, that they think they should be in love. Fortunately for the fans, Kuzco turned 18 in the very first movie, so this basically opens up legality for all possible romances between Kuzco and Kronk, who is estimated to either be in his early 20's, or 18 years old, since he went to high school with Kuzco.
Kronk and Kuzco have 14 written works on AO3.
