KyoNaki is the het ship between Kyogai and Nakime from the Demon Slayer fandom.
Canon[]
Kyogai and Nakime are both demons. Kyogai used to be lower rank 6 before getting deranked. While Nakime was unranked before and got promoted to Upper rank 4. Thus both of them at some point were part of the Twelve Kizuki. During lowermoon meetings Kyogai, when he still was one, would be summoned by Nakime to the infinity castle.
Nakime and Kyogai both share a similar blood demon art, since both can move parts of buildings. Kyogai can manipulate the drum house by using the drums on his body. While Nakime can manipulate the infinity castle by using her instrument called biwa.
Fanon[]
KyoNaki is a rare pair in the fandom. This is due to the fact that the two are not seen interacting on screen. People speculated that the two may have interacted with each other prior to the beginning of the story. Despite their lack of interactions shown, the pairing still has a small fanbase.
Fans started to like this pairing, due to the similarities the two have. This mainly being their blood demon art and the fact that the two both use instruments for this. With this fans liked the thought that the two of them could share their interest for music with each other or even play together. Another similarity the both share is that both used to be struggling artists, Kyogai being a writer and Nakime being a musician. Some even create an AU where demons don’t exist in which Nakime and Kyogai would meet each other and could become friends or even lovers. This either portrays them both as musicians or as a writer and a musician. With Kyogai and Nakime helping each other out with the struggles they have as artists.
This pairing easily gets overshadowed by Nakime’s more popular ships, such as NaDaki and KokuNaki. While this pairing is the most popular one for Kyogai, since he barely has any pairings.
It currently has 2 works on A03.
