Langa x Hamburger is the cargo between Langa Hasegawa and hamburgers from the SK8 the Infinity fandom.
Canon[]
Langa, a half-Japanese transfer student from Canada, is portrayed as a reserved, prodigious skater with a comically insatiable appetite, particularly for hamburgers, and despite he doesn't outright state that he explicitly loves hamburgers, he is seen eating them in brief moments of the anime and also in canon piece of artworks. Since he is known for being gluttonous, he's able on eating a bunch of food by himself, and this is also displayed in some episodes.
In "The Fated Tournament!", after Langa's intense beef against Adam, Reki, Langa, Miya, and Shadow go to a restaurant to unwind. Hiromi would then challenge Miya to eat 5 hamburgers to prove he was a man, but the latter declines since he didn't like them. Still, Shadow is quite insistent on it, and they end up discussing as Langa is seen quietly eating a big platter of hamburgers one by one, which were even more hamburgers Hiromi had dared Miya to eat, but none of them (not even Reki, who was spectating the quarrel) seemed to notice him at all and same going to Langa and he rather focused eating than listening to Miya and Hiromi's discussion, until the waitress arrived and served Langa a portion of poutine.
To celebrate Langa's victory in skating against Adam, at the end credits of the first season ("Our Infinity!"), he is shown to be given another large platter of burgers, implying that he had remained unsatisfied with the previous one, which he is seen eating happily while Reki watches him with some confusion, as it appeared to be the first time he saw Langa eating so much, even if he had already experienced it but was unaware of it (see previous paragraph). However, Adam arrived at the party by helicopter and threw himself directly at Langa, leaving the latter to stare in horror and eat his hamburger without moving while Reki attempted to take him out of where he was so he wouldn't be crushed, although unsuccessful.
Behind The Scenes[]
In a conversation between producers of the anime, they can be seen ranting about Langa's secrets. In one of the fragments of the conversation, they are seen talking about Langa's gluttonous food habit, especially describing how he could eat 10 hamburgers easily.[1]
- Uryuu – “Also [Langa]’s a kid who eats a ton.”
- Suzuki – “He can easily eat 10 hamburgers, and on top of that he can still eat a super poutine (a food famous in Canada). We didn’t realize when we were searching for locations to use in the show, but A&W (a fast food restaurant whose only locations in Japan are in Okinawa) actually has super poutine on the menu. Director Utsumi said “this is fate!” and got all excited.”

Fanon[]
The ship started as a joke, firstly when Langa ate a big plate of bugers without problem. What was attractive to fans was the face that Langa was making while eating the burgers, which was "adorable" according to them. The ship started to grow when episode 12 end credits happened, in which it can be seen Langa eating a hamburger in a party that was thrown for his victory from his match with Adam. However when the latter arrived to the place clearly uninvited, he didn't even try to run away, and rather just kept eating, which made fans interpret it that eating the burger was his first priority rather than being crushed by Adam.
In fan arts, whenever he's eating, it will always be hamburgers, as it's the food that it's mostly shown in the anime which Langa eats, though in other occasions it can be something different such as ice cream. Although Langa x Hamburger isn't popular than other cargoships from the fandom and ships in general, it's well-liked by Langa and the anime's fans. There are several posts of people saying how Langa looked when eating a hamburger in Tumblr, mainly looking adorable and cute as mentioned before. Mostly in headcanons it can be ranted about Langa eating burgers at any moment, either if he's in a troubling situation, or whenever he's on a date with Reki and he invites him some of the food to eat.
Because of his undying "love" for hamburgers (not stated by Langa himself, but still have been seen enjoying them), for Langa's character he's seen eating/holding a hamburger in the fan arts when being drawn individually, and sometimes Reki also is seen joining him, though it's not really common. Due of the popularity it had, there can be some merchandise of Langa eating hamburgers, like stickers which are available in RedBubble, which is an online shopping place. Langa x Hamburger, like with cargoships from other fandoms and SK8's one, they tend to argue that Langa x Hamburger was the true and first ship, commonly taken as a joke.
