Leneru is the het ship between Akita Neru and Kagamine Len from the Vocaloid fandom.
Canon[]
Kagamine Len is a character from the vocal synthesizer application VOCALOID and Piapro studio by Crypton Future Media. On the other hand, Akita Neru is a character derived from Hatsune Miku. However her impact in the Vocaloid community was so big to the point that she was officially recognized by Crypton Future Media. For this very reason, she has even appeared in the Project DIVA game series, a series that Len is also apart of. Neither Neru nor Len have canonical personalities or relationships. People tend to portray their relationship differently, depending on how they view them.
Songs[]
Since Neru does not have an official voice, she has rarely been used in original songs and duets with Len. However, to overcome this, songs featuring the two use other females vocaloids, such as Megurine Luka, or mix two female (usually Hatsune Miku or Kagamine Rin) voices to interpret Neru's.
The producer “Sekai SeifukuP” is best known for producing songs where he uses them. Their most famous song, “Megami no Kousaku” is a love ballad where Neru imagines what it would be like to be in a relationship with Len. However, it is left up to interpretation if Len also feels something. A few more songs where they sing or appear together are "Marionette Beats Break," "Chocolate Candy Girl," and "Chicken-heart."
Fanon[]
Neru is usually interpreted as a “Tsundere” who finds it hard to admit her feelings, and Len is seen as someone more cheerful and enthusiastic who doesn't usually notice her feelings, or on the contrary, he takes the initiative. These tropes are especially shown in Japanese mmd videos such as "Len x Neru in That Acting," (parts one and two), "Len x Neru in That Lesson," "Yellow Confusion," "Len x Neru in That School Cultural Festival," "Cat and Miku and Neru," and even in the pafu-pafu series.
There are other cases where there is a free interpretation of the dynamics as in MillymusiiC's videos (an example being "Len x Neru ― Tu gran consejo"), or the "Academia Vocaloid" mmd series.
On AO3, LeNeru is the most written ship for Neru and the 9th for Len. It has 20+ works.
Chibi Miku-san[]
Is a very popular online 4koma series created by Minami on Pixiv. It details the humorous everyday life of Chibi-Miku and her fellow Vocaloids. This was published daily until it had 555 chapters.
In this one, Neru's character was portrayed as a little girl friend of chibi miku who has a somewhat conceited personality and tries to outdo others (often with hilarious results), she has a huge crush on Len (which causes her to black-out whenever she sees Len together with another girl), on the other hand, Len is shown as a hardworking fellow and genuinely care Chibi-Miku like a big brother. In the comic, Neru is always a girl who tries to get close to Len and always fails, plus he doesn't seem to notice, but Rin does.
