Season 2[]
LAIR GAMES
After Donnie gets second, much to Leo's shock, he takes Splinter's mic and comes over to him. He sarcastically asks what it's like to get second place, and Donnie tells him to not. Leo ignores him and says that he wouldn't know, because he only gets first. Then does a mic drop, which annoys Donnie.
They then head to play "Pipe Goop Chicken" where Leo starts to taunt them all, much to Donnie's annoyance. Leo bets that Donnie is gonna be the one to break first, and Splinter starts the challenge. Mikey and Raph tap out fast, leaving Leo and Donnie as the last ones, waiting for the goop to drop. Leo tells Donnie to tap out, and remember the kind of person he is, but Donnie tells him to tap out first. Leo says it's his last chance as the goop gets closer, till Leo ends up breaking and gives up. Donnie getting first for the first time.
After a montage of more games, they reach the penultimate event, Fridge Balance. Leo ends up stumbling and crashes into Donnie, causing them both to fall. But since Donnie hit the ground first, Leo won the challenge. Leo cheers just as it's revealed that Donnie's been injured. Leo asks if he's okay, but Donnie believes that Leo did it on purpose since he wanted to win so badly.
Just as Leo seems to have it in the bag with Shell Bowling, Donnie arrives with his ankle still injured. He plans to win and ends up getting a ten, tying with Leo. Every one else is ecstatic while Leo falls to the ground in despair. One of the models then ends up standing up, and Donnie's score ends up being a nine. As a result, they've now tied. They look at their rules for what to do in this event, and are both horrified to find that it's "Splinter's Choice".
All the turtles are eventually horrified that Leo and Donnie have to fight to try and catch and oiled up Splinter in order to win. As disturbed as the two are, they still fight for their victory. Leo insists that Donnie is gonna lose, but fumbles and Leo is the one who ends up losing.
Donnie then brags to Leo that he now has his room, and is the current winner of the Lair Games. April asks how it feels to lose, and Leo asks if he actually lost. Later that night, Leo takes her camera and shows that from his room you can easily hear Splinter snoring. Donnie clearly unable to sleep while Leo looks smug.

Leotello is initially, an underexplored relationship in the TMNT franchise over all. Typically having the least amount of conflict between them out of all the inter-turtle relationships. Leo often relying on Donnie the most to get things done among the rest of the turtles, at least when he's the leader. This caused them to be largely unexplored by the fanbase in art and fic. However, Rise's change in personality for the two caused the two to have more conflict. Leading to the fandom calling them "Disaster Twins", due to them being the same age and getting into a lot of shenanigan's together.
On AO3, the gen version of Leotello is the second most written ship for both Leo and Donnie. It is also the second most written ship in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - All Media Types tag. The slash version of Leotello is the fourth most written ship for both Leo and the Donnie. It is also the seventh most written ship in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - All Media Types tag
