Lesser Dad is the familyship between Lancer and Rouxls Kaard from the Deltarune fandom.
Canon[]
According to Seam, the King's "strange son" was already around by the time King was appointed as sole ruler of the Card Kingdom. Since King abused his power, firing all the puzzle makers and appointing Rouxls Kaard as their replacement, it can be assumed that Rouxls Kaard became familiar with King's son Lancer during that time.
Chapter 1[]
Lancer and Rouxls Kaard have very little direct interaction in the first Chapter, aside from both wanting to hinder the heroes progress to defeat King and seal the fountain that created their Dark World.
However, "The King's Son" is a selectable topic when choosing to talk with Rouxls in his shop. Rouxls will make his initial dislike of Lancer very clear, describing him as "more troublesome than a fistful of fleas". He will vent about Lancer continously asking him stupid questions and referring to him as "Lesser Dad", which Rouxls hates being referred to. He insists that he isn't related to Lancer and merely puts up with his antics for his father's sake. But after complaining about Lancer bothering him by forcing him to listen to his MP3s, Rouxls immediately backpedals and asks the heroes how Lancer is doing.
Rouxls has a change of heart after the party manage to beat the "K Round" enemy he had prepared for them, which includes him softening up to Lancer considerably. He regrets coming of as a bit harsh to him and outright describes Lancer as a "Darling". Even though he still considers him strange and irritating, he describes him as a "strange and irritating darling". Rouxls compares Lancer to a baby bird as whenever King refuses to feed him, Lancer will cry until Rouxls feeds him with worms. However, Rouxls does not complain about that anymore, thinking that this means that he earned his high rank.
After King is defeated and thrown into jail by Lancer for his tyranny, he and Rouxls will be thankful for the heroes giving them freedom.
Chapter 2[]
Lancer and the other Card Kingdom residents will reunite with Kris and Susie after they had transported all their physical forms into Ralsei's home of Castle Town, located in the school's storage closet. But when Ralsei hears that Kris and Susie are procrastinating on their school assigned group project, he temporarily banishes them from Castle Town until the project is done. Lancer however insists on coming along with them by stuffing himself in Kris' pocket, with Rouxls Kaard following along to keep an eye on him.
However, when Kris and Susie just happen to discover another Dark World in the library's computer room, Rouxls Kaard jumps out of Kris' pocket when they enter it. This is confirmed when Lancer comments that Rouxls had gone missing, still in Kris' pocket.
However, as Kris and Susie are captured by this Dark World's ruler Queen, Kris lets Lancer out to help them escape, only for Lancer to gradually petrify as he isn't compatible with the Dark World he is in. When Rouxls Kaard attacks Kris and Ralsei under pretense of wanting to offer the island they are fighting over as a gift to Queen, Ralsei tells him that Lancer is not well. Rouxls will assume that Ralsei meant that Lancer needs help with burping, but he will dismiss it to continue fighting them. However, Rouxls will also gradually petrify, only with his head remaining unchanged and unintentionally clear the way for them.
Lancer and Rouxls Kaard are restored back to normal when the party returns to Castle Town, where Rouxls will barge in on a dispute between King and Queen to declare himself Queen's new man. But when neither have any idea who he is talking about, Queen asks who Rouxls was after he left, King merely describes him as "Lancer's lesser father", thus directly acknowledging that Lancer sees him as such.
