LightShipping is the non-binary ship between Curious Light and Guiding Light from the DOORS fandom.
Canon[]
The duo have never interacted nor directly mentioned each other throughout the game. However, the official creators of the game declared that Curious Light will be a much bigger asset to the story in newer updates. This gives a possibility that the two lights can and or will meet in future updates. In one of Curious Light's dialogue, they mention someone who goes by she/her pronouns. It is unknown who they were referring to when mentioning this woman, but it can be theorized that they were referring to Guiding Light. Both are spiritual-like forces within the hotel, and they offer support to any players who perished to entities.
However, Curious Light is deliberately much less helpful than Guiding Light. Despite not interacting nor acknowledging each other's presence as of now, they are shown to be within a portrait together; The painting displays Curios Light in the center and Guiding Light to the top right corner with Mischevious Light towards the bottom left.
Fanon[]
LightShipping is a well known pairing within the Doors fanbase. After Curious Light's release, fans immediately began to wonder if Guiding and Curious Light are related in some way. Fans came up with theories regarding their genders. Since Curious Light refers to someone who goes by feminine pronouns, some assume they could be referring to Guiding Light, which could confirm the popular suspicion that they are indeed female. Because of the constant gender headcanons, in some interpretations in fan content, it can either be perceived as a slash, het, or femslash pairing.
Many fanarts depicting them have them showcased as humanized versions of themselves. They are commonly donned in fashionable clothing or appear as majestic angels. It is unclear whether they truly possess psychical forms other than their orb-like forms. Curious Light implied that they indeed have one since they managed to materialize levers. An interesting fan theory to note regards the human pasts of the duo; Many believe them to be humans in their mortal lives and somehow lost them within the hotel.
Since Curious Light is much lazier then Guiding Light when it comes to giving the player valuable advice, this triggers the Opposites Attract trope. There aren't many tropes the duo fall under due to the very little personal information given about them. Since they are implied to be angelic or spiritual beings, they can be seen as a God Couple. Through multiple hints and past special content in the game, Curious and Guiding Light are not the only spirits of their kind residing in the hotel. An additional member known as Mischievous Light gets into the mix. This shapes the poly pairing between the three.
