Linkbosa is a friend ship between Link and Urbosa from The Legend of Zelda fandom.
Canon[]
Breath of the Wild[]
Link and Urbosa first met during the Champions' inauguration ceremony while they were given blue cloths to exhibit their status. Once they take a break, Mipha makes a favor to Zelda to do something special and Purah helps the Champions get together for a photo shoot as she instructs them to get their positions just right and takes the photo, but Daruk suddenly pulls everyone in at the last moment. In Urbosa's diary, she voices her concerns as she witnesses how uncharacteristically cold Zelda is to Link and hopes that they will find a way to get along. During Link's personal ceremony, when Revali was remarking on his similarities with Zelda on their views on Link, Urbosa hushes him and states that Link is a living reminder of her own failure.
Link later meets with Urbosa due to a problem that arose, when Princess Zelda took advantage of the law forbidding males from entering Gerudo Town, so she teaches him the secret of disguising himself as a female Hylian to bypass the guards and remain undetected by everyone in town, but by the time Link was able to get in, Zelda was already gone so Urbosa promises to let him know if Zelda ever turns up, which Link agrees while reluctantly leaving. After Zelda tires herself out from during her survey on Vah Naboris, Urbosa sent word to Link that she found Zelda which he then arrived quickly than she'd expect. She goes on to explain that she has been doing work all day which earns her a well-deserved rest and asks how they are getting along, and deduces that they haven't and does not blame Link for how poorly their relationship is going and explains that Zelda sees herself as a failure when she sees Link due to his succeeding at a milestone which she did not and had gone through so many years of dedication that she once passed out during one of her attempts and is sympathetic towards her, and tells him that serving as her knight is a huge honor. When the desert night brings in colder air, Urbosa insists on taking her in, but has something else in mind and snaps her fingers to activate Urbosa's Fury, summoning lightning to scare Zelda awake. The princess is confused by Link's presence and even more so with Urbosa laughing. In the meantime, with Urbosa having told Link Zelda's personal problems, she leaves the rest to them hoping that it would help turn things around for them.
Since Link saved Zelda from the Yiga Clan, Urbosa is happy to see that the two of them have finally started to improve with no longer any tension between them, but she worries that time is running out, which is worsened with more monster attacks and strange activity and she could only pray that Zelda has enough time, not to the goddesses but to her mother, whom she still missed. Urbosa and the Champions are waiting at Mt. Lanayru where they meet again, which Zelda did not succeed in accessing the power she hoped to gain, with Urbosa telling her that self-pity isn't going to help her get anywhere and suggests moving on. When Calamity Ganon returns, Urbosa and the Champions head to their Divine Beasts, but they end up losing their lives, while Link is taken to the Shrine of Resurrection to recover as Zelda uses her newfound power to trap Ganon in Hyrule Castle.
Once Link recovers, he sets off to free the Divine Beasts and with Riju's help, he is able to get on. Urbosa instructs Link to activate the terminals which will power up the Main Control Unit, but when Link tries to activate it, he has to fight Thunderblight Ganon to avenge her. Once he does Link activate the Main Control Unit and Urbosa appears to Link to thank him for all of his efforts. She acknowledges that he and Zelda gone through a very rough time due to the Champions' deaths but explains that it was how things end up happening and to tell Zelda not to blame herself for what happened to them, and she is proud of her. As Link leaves, she tells Link to take care of Zelda and Hyrule before she sets off to set her sights on Hyrule Castle. Once Link reaches the Sanctum and Calamity Ganon is released, Urbosa and the Champions open fire to weaken it.
Fanon[]
Linkbosa is a common platonic ship between both Link and Urbosa with both of them having a healthy relationship between them. Fans appreciate that Urbosa is the person who is willing to stand up to Revali whenever he insults Link, and how she was pivotal in helping Link and Princess Zelda improve their relationship when there was so much tension between them with Zelda's avoidance almost resulted in her death. Romance ships between them also exist, but they are not as common as the friendships are due to the age gap between them, similar to how the Zelbosa fell out of favor among the fanbase due to the big age gaps Zelda and Urbosa between them. Urbosa also acts like a mother figure to Link in addition to Zelda and always finds a way to help him whenever he needs it. Link is also generally friendly with Urbosa in the fanfic stories and in some of them, Link is able to open up because of her.
