Lonlissa is the het ship between Lon'qu and Lissa from the Fire Emblem fandom.
Canon[]
Lissa is the youngest sister of Chrom, both are the younger siblings to the Exalt Emmeryn; Lissa joined Chrom's efforts to fight against the threat of the nation Plegia (which their father had previously tried to exterminate thus causing a vicious cycle) and other foes that rose up, becoming a healer in his army. Lon'qu was born in Chon'sin and lived in the slums but moved to Ferox when a girl he was close to his in his childhood, named Ke'ri, was killed by bandits and her parents blamed him for her death, causing him to flee in shame from his home; in Ferox he became the Champion of their Arena after catching the attention of the Khan, Basilio thanks to his skills.
Lon'qu would meet Chrom's group, Lissa included, after Chrom and "Marth" have a duel in Ragna Ferox, when Basilio offers Lon'qu to Chrom to join their efforts, Lissa tries to greet him but he dismisses her due to his gynophobia. Lon'qu and Lissa would then proceed to, alongside the rest of the Shepherds, fight off the threat of the Risen, the Grimleal, Valm and many other foes including the Fell Dragon Grima.
C to A Support[]
In their C Support Chrom assigns Lon'qu as Lissa's bodyguard, confident that despite his fear of women he can keep his little sister safe. Though Lon'qu tries to take his job seriously he is exasperated by her cheerful attitude at first. Lissa's attempts to get through Lon'qu's grump exterior to get to better know him but Lon'qu continues lightly dismissing her.
In their B Support Lissa tries to physically and literally get closer to Lon'qu, who she feels is keeping his distance from her. Despite his own seeming disdain for Lissa, Lon'qu nonetheless tries to assure her that her smile keeps others happy and motivated, which Lissa teases him could also make him happy though he denies it. When Lissa storms off in frustration over his grumpiness, Lon'qu suspects she could be playing him due to no threats showing up to harm her.
In their A Support Lon'qu is hit with an arrow while escorting Lissa through a dangerous path and Lissa tends to his wounds. Lissa is greatly thankful for his help and protection though Lon'qu tries to pass off his genuine concern as merely being him doing his job and assignment. Despite the fact that technically Lon'qu has done his job and thus has no more need to keep up with Lissa, the two agree to continue chatting with each other from time to time.
S Support and Ending[]
In their S Support, Lissa reaches out to Lon'qu for a chat. Lon'qu is at first dismissive as ever, but Lissa has had enough of his attitude and tries to leave in frustration, however at this point Lon'qu feels guilt for driving her off and urges her to stay, telling her that he feels glad to have her around and he feels happy when she comes to see him. Afterwards Lon'qu clarifies that he doesn't thinks of Lissa as a bother as she thought she was due to his previous attitude. The timid swordsman then proposes to Lissa with a ring, not wanting to keep anymore distance between the two, she accepts.
After the final defeat of Grima, Lon'qu left Ylisse to become Basilio's right-hand man in Ferox, while Lissa normally remains in Ylisse to assist her brother and his wife with their new lives in peace. In their paired ending, Lissa left Ylisse instead so as to be with her husband when he returned to Ferox, strengthening the bond between the kingdoms thanks to their union.
Fanon[]
Lonlissa is a fairly popular ship within the Fire Emblem fandom, owed to their dynamic of bodyguard and princess, which is depicted in their support. Others like the pairing for the implications of Chrom picking Lon'qu as Lissa's bodyguard because he was handsome in his opinion in addition to how Lissa slowly gets through Lon'qu's outward fear of woman through her kindness and even gets him to admit his feelings for her as a sort-of apology for his previous standoffish behavior.
The ship is rivaled by other Lissa and Lon'qu ships such as Lissabelle, Rob'qu and Lonlivia, all whom have dedicated fanbases of their own. There isn't much conflict between the shippers of each pairing but occasionally it might be had with Lissabelle shippers, even then it isn't a common occurrence. There also exists a rare OT3 variant with Maribelle added to the mix of the pairing.
