== Canon ==
Gus always had on interest in humans and couldn't believe his luck when his friend Willow snuck one into their school. In "I Was a Teenage Abomination", Luz responds to Gus's question about humans. Luz was the one who came up with Gus's nickname and has used it since their first meeting, Gus is very excited to have a human nickname and states that this is the best day of his life. Later, Willow, Gus and Luz are having lunch in the cafeteria, Gus asks if humans eat peanut butter jelly sandwiches; Luz begs Gus to give her some. Luz offers Willow and Gus a high five but they don't know what it is, Luz tells them to slap her hand as it is a human thing. Gus approaches her and slaps her hand, he gets excited and continues to high five her. Gus uses the high five Luz taught him so that she and Willow can escape. After, Gus, Luz and Willow hug. Luz asks Gus what happened to Amity, he tells her that she asked Bump if today could count as extra credit. Luz is excited to sneak in again, Gus  gives her bad news, telling her that she is banned.

Luz meets Gus again in "Convention", when he and Willow walk up to Luz and he then tells her something amazing is going to happen today. When Luz is confused by the illusion magic, Gus introduces her to it. So she could gain an understanding of the magic track he is studying. Gus and Willow later try to warn her about the emperors coven.

In "Hooty's Moving Hassle", Luz greets Gus and Willow, she notices something is wrong and asks what's wrong, they tell her how Amity invited everyone but Willow to the conjuring night. Luz tells the two that they are going to have a conjuring night, Gus tells the two that this was on his bucket list after wanting a human bucket. Luz tells him that it is a weird thing to want, but she appreciates his enthusiasm. When the three in the owl house, Gus is excited to see a human bucket, Luz tells them they have everything. Gus, Luz and Willow hold hands and start the conjuring. Luz tries to get Hooty to stop, Gus tells her he is in a trance, Gus falls and Luz is quick to grab his hand. The three realize they can control the house. Luz suggests they stay put and Gus suggests they go on a joyride. Luz tells the two that they should go back, Gus tells her that Amity is updating her Penstagram, Luz gets angry and agrees to show off. When Luz tells Willow she's the most powerful witch, next to Eda, she tells Gus that she means no offense. Gus and Willow defend Luz when Eda questions her.

Gus is shown to have kept one of the banned posters of Luz for the Human Appreciation Society (H.A.S), in "Something Ventured, Someone Framed." With Luz being a human he felt that she was his best chance to keep Mattholomule from taking away his President position of H.A.S., despite knowing that Luz is still banned from the school. Leaving Gus with no choice but to sneak Luz back into the school while making her think that the banned on her was lifted. To up his chances of keeping the other students from selling Luz or him out, Gus took down all of the banned posters and reassures Willow that nothing will go wrong. Luz was happy to be in Hexside again and was more than happy to help Gus. When the guards look at the two, Gus says they have to run for no reason. Gus feels happy for dunking on one of his members and dances, Luz just wants to explore the place and she asks Gus who the trophy for the most bones. Gus quickly drags Luz once one of the guards come near and tells her that they have no time. Luz tells Gus that he has to give her a full tour next time, Gus chuckles nervously. When Luz is talking to the Professor, Gus quickly gets nervous and covers for her, he agrees to a tour. He shows Luz where they play sport, Gus spots a guard and runs away again. He shows her all the tracks including his own, she questions who the other Gus in the room is. Luz tells him that he is good and he tells her that he moved a couple grades.

Gus introduces Luz to the H.A.S, Luz and Gus forgive Mattholomule for lying. Mattholomule tells the guards where the intruder is (Luz), Luz tells them that the ban has been lifted and asks Gus to tell them. Gus gets himself in trouble (and Mattholomule) so he can rescue Luz, Luz confronts Gus about his lie about the ban being lifted. Gus tells her the truth and he didn't want to lose his rank, she forgives him but wishes he told her the truth. Gus tells Luz that he has a plan, Luz asks how they start, he holds her hand and tells her by leaving no one behind and jumps in to save Mattholomule. Gus takes the blame for Luz and tells Principal Bump the truth, and he accepts her punishment as his own. Gus asks if Luz wants to finish her tour, the two and Willow go explore the school.

In "Escape of the Palismen", Luz meets Willow and Gus. Gus tells Luz she can find a hexside shirt in the lost and found box. The bus leaves without the three, Willows  tells Luz that they were not gonna leave her behind and Gus admits he was. Luz goes and gets them a staff without permission because she owes them. They try flying to Glandus but crash, as a result Owlbert leaves, they chase after him. Gus comments that humans can run and it must their dorsal fins, referring to Luz. Luz tries to compliment the Bat Queen and Gus tells her that it could have gone worse, Luz agrees to do the Bat Queen's trials; Gus and Willow are there to help her out. However, they get trapped as they aren't allowed to help. Gus managed to break free to help Luz but gets trapped again, the two cheer her on. Luz gets Gus and Willow out so they can help her, later, Luz apologizes for missing the game. Gus tells her it was better than any grudgeby match.

In "Adventures in the Elements", Luz is excited to have classes with Gus, Willow and Amity.

In "First Day", Gus and Willow congratulate Luz for getting accepted. Gus and Willow are confused why they didn't see Luz in any classes and ask why, Luz asks them to get her out. They agree and Gus tells her that'll they will get her out, dead or alive. Luz tries to help Gus and Willow after they get drained. Gus and Willow were watching Luz through the secret hideout.

== Fanon ==
Lus was originally one of the first het ships involving Luz in ''The Owl House'' fandom, besides [[Ludric]] before [[Lunter]] came along. Along with Lus being one of the main rival ships of [[Gus x Bria]] and [[WillGus]], when Lus isn't being overshadowed by [[Lumity]] and [[Gustholomule]] from how popular the two ships are. Some prefer this ship to be platonically due to the 2 year age gap, however it is not that big of an age gap so it's not rare for some to ship this romantically. It is rare to see the two being paired up romantically. On AO3, there are currently 202 works made for the ship.
