Mafukasa is the het ship between Mafuyu Asahina and Tsukasa Tenma from the Project SEKAI fandom.
Canon[]
Mafuyu and Tsukasa do not interact often in canon. The two are in different groups, with Tsukasa being in Wonderlands x Showtime and Mafuyu being in 25-ji, Nightcord de. They do have some brief interactions in the "At This Festival Colored by Twilight" event. At the Shibuya Festa, Mafuyu watches the show performed by Wonderlands x Showtime, which included Tsukasa. Mafuyu is shown to have enjoyed the show and think it was really good. Tsukasa, among the other Wonderlands x Showtime members, also thanks Mafuyu and shows his appreciation for being able to put on a great show.
The two are opposites with Tsukasa being somewhat of a happy clown while Mafuyu is more sad. However, the two also have some similarities. They are both the class representatives at their respective schools. The two also try very hard to live up to high expectations, with Mafuyu trying to live up to her parents' expectations and Tsukasa trying to reach the goal of becoming a star. They are the only characters in the game who were solely responsible for the creation of their units' respective SEKAIs. Though, their SEKAIs are also opposites. Tsukasa's SEKAI is a lively wonderland filled with things while Mafuyu's SEKAI is mostly empty with the only things in it being broken.
During the 2023 April Fool's event, Mafuyu and Tsukasa were both in the Cautious Heart Class. Though it had been a while since the two had met, Mafuyu remembers Tsukasa, and she also reintroduces herself. The two talk with Luka about how she has four doppelgängers with the same first and last name. Tsukasa also invites Mafuyu to eat lunch with the other people in their class, and Mafuyu says she appreciates the invitation. Though Mafuyu thinks to herself that she's never met anyone as loud as Tsukasa.
Fanon[]
Mafukasa is somewhat popular, mostly in the Eastern fandom. It has a bit of fanart and fanfiction. On AO3, there are 51+ romantic works and 50+ gen works written for the pair. Mafukasa is mostly rivaled by Kanamafu and RuiKasa, Mafuyu and Tsukasa's most popular ships respectively. A certain part of the fandom believes that, deep down, Tsukasa is depressed just like Mafuyu and that Mafuyu exactly understands Tsukasa's pain. Common theme in fanworks is also Tsukasa trying to make Mafuyu smile. Some find that Mafukasa has an unhealthy dynamic since Mafuyu can't express or show her feelings when Tsukasa tries to get her to smile. Others find that Mafuyu might be mean to Tsukasa if the two were to interact more.
But even some people that don't ship Mafukasa headcanon Tsukasa and Mafuyu to be best friends despite the two not interacting in canon. Others headcanon the two to be forgotten childhood friends because of Mafuyu taking piano lessons from Tsukasa and Saki's mother. Fans have noticed that the two are both somehow related to fish, with Mafuyu owning an aquarium and Tsukasa owning at least two jackets with fish on them. This has sparked a headcanon that Mafuyu and Tsukasa are "fishing buddies."
Ship Weeks[]
A Mafukasa Week was held throughout 2023, under the mafukasaweek hashtag on Twitter. The prompts for the first day were "first meeting ,jealousy or comforting each other", "aquariun, clothes swap or ice skating" for the second day, "stargazing, comfort or betrayal" for the third day, "flowers, going missing or fairy tale" for the fourth day, "missing memories, knitting or runaway" for the fifth day, "spoiling one on another, cooking/baking or one of them is sick" for the sixth day, and the seventh and final day's were "AU or free choice".
