MagmaFrost is the femslash ship between Amber and Mandy from the Brawl Stars fandom.
Canon[]
Amber and Mandy are dark-skinned, young-looking female playable characters in Brawl Stars and, depending on the player's choices, can face off or cooperate in online modes. They don’t interact directly within the game. However, in a Supercell animation to present the “Dark Brawlidays”, Amber with her Frost Queen skin lands in Candyland accompanied with Sam Yeti and Ash Krampus with the purpose of attacking the place. Almost instantly, the frozen girl attacks the candy queen directly with two blasts of frozen daggers, but the first wave fails to hit after interference from Chester. Mandy manages to dodge the other daggers to proceed to counterattack with her sugar ray. In the end, the lightning shatters the glass candy containers, causing them to fall on Amber, Ash, and Sam, defeating them.
Despite their few interactions, they share notable similarities. They both own their own businesses: Amber runs her own fire-breathing entertainment show in Starr Park, while Mandy is the CEO of the candy store in the Candyland kingdom. Both always try to show their best side/version in front of their clients/public. Likewise, according to their descriptions, they have complete confidence in themselves regarding their abilities to control their abilities: Amber with fire and Mandy with candy and her subjects. Although due to the sweet girl's temperament and the fire-eater's clumsiness, the situation could get worse.
They also have notable differences. Although Mandy displays a sweet and understanding personality in front of her clients, she is constantly upset or irritated due to Chester's pranks or the customers not treating her like a queen, while Amber has a caring and cheerful personality. with others, but she can be somewhat distracted and clumsy in her work, unconsciously ignoring the damage she can cause if she fails in any of her actions. In the game, Amber is classified as a control and legendary brawler, while Mandy is an epic character and marksman class. In Season 16, Mandy gained a lava skin called Magma Mandy, while Amber gained an ice skin called Frost Queen Amber.
Fanon[]
MagmaFrost is a rare ship in the Brawl Stars fandom. This couple was born at Brawl Talk in December 2022 when Mandy was announced as a new character along with her Magma Mandy skin and other Dark Brawlydays-themed skins including the Frost Queen Amber. However, fans increased with the release of the animation “Dark Brawlydays in Candyland” where both characters could be seen fighting. Quickly, the community devised a headcanon where both have a strong and fearsome rivalry increased by their great mutual hatred because they represent opposite elements: Amber the ice and Mandy the fire. Likewise, the community began to form sides to decide which was better: Team Fire or Team Ice.
On the one hand, a part of the community paired them in an ironic and sometimes platonic way because they didn’t share many other aspects in common outside of their given skins in season 16. On the other hand, another small group of fans liked to imagine them in a romantic relationship that went from hate to love, fitting the Enemies to Lovers trope. Nonetheless, as time went by, the pair became increasingly overshadowed by other, more popular ships for the same characters such as ManChester or Maisamber. Although it also established itself as a solid rival against LouAmber and in recent months new fan works by shippers have been created and shared on social networks such as Twitter (Now X).
