MakoNeph is the het ship between Makoto Kino and Nephrite from the Sailor Moon fandom.

Nephrite and Makoto first meet when he uses his power to possess a bridal shop mannequin and create the rumour of a "ghost bride". He does this to try and draw out Sailor Moon, while also sucking up the energy of grooms to give to Queen Metallia. The ghost bride brainwashes Motoki Furuhata, who draws out Makoto and acts as though he loves her. Sailor Moon and the others arrive on the scene and show Makoto that what she is seeing is only illusion. Hurt, she awakens as Sailor Jupiter. Nephrite, watching from afar, declares himself as Sailor Jupiter's real opponent. She attacks quickly, summoning lighting and killing Nephrite with a single strike.

Nephrite and Makoto again meet when Nephrite creates the "ghost bride". However, their interactions are much more extensive. When Makoto awakens from the effects of Motoki's brainwashing, she begins to fear that no one will ever love her. Nephrite encourages this thought, saying "How could you ever believe anyone would ever love you?". Makoto begins to fall into despair, but Sailor Moon reminds her that love is real and they should all believe in it. Nephrite attacks the Sailor Guardians, which causes Makoto to awaken as Sailor Jupiter.
Nephrite is shocked and annoyed by the appearance of a new guardian. Sailor Jupiter attacks him with a Flower Hurricane, paralyzing Nephrite in place. He stares into Jupiter's eyes, and wonders if he knows that look in them. She then summons a thunderbolt which kills the ghost bride, and forces Nephrite to retreat.
Later, Nephrite and the other Shitennou follow Queen Beryl into the depths of the Dark Kingdom and learn that their memories have been suppressed. They start to awaken to their old memories, but Beryl soon locks them away again. All four travel to Earth to fight the Sailor Guardians, with Nephrite engaging in battle with Jupiter. During the fight, Sailor Venus reveals that they were all once lovers during the Silver Millennium. Jupiter is shocked, but soon comes to realize that she remembers her past romance with Nephrite. The Sailor Guardians now refuse to fight, with Jupiter stating that it is "too cruel".
Fanon[]
As Makoto and Nephrite never meet in the original anime adaptation of Sailor Moon, this pairing is the least popular out of the Senshi x Shitennou pairings. It is also sometimes overshadowed by the semi-canon NephNaru, which is an anime-only ship. Fans who enjoy this ship oftentimes like the other Senshi x Shitennou pairings, as well as MamoUsa. They enjoy being able to easily provide each girl with a boyfriend. Some shippers like to focus on the past lives of Sailor Jupiter and Nephrite, while others like to focus on them coming together in the modern day as Makoto and Nephrite.
