Makosyo is the het ship between Makoto Naegi and Genocide Jack from the Danganronpa fandom.
Canon[]
Makoto and Genocide Jack are both students at Hope's Peak Academy in Class 78. It is unclear if Makoto was made aware of Genocide Jack's existence prior to the Tragedy, but after their memories are wiped he is introduced to her during the second class trial. While Byakuya Togami is trying to pin the murder of Chihiro Fujisaki on Genocide Jack, Makoto works to prove her innocence. She seems to take well to Makoto, calling him "Mahkyutie". She also gives him other nicknames, such as "Big Mac" and ""Macoco Chanel".
As the protagonist, Makoto is able to interact with Genocide Jack via Free Time Events. At first he seems rather reluctant to do so, feeling that Jack is nonsensical and impossible to understand. In their final event, Jack talks about her feelings for Byakuya. She confesses that she would never kill again, if it meant getting to be with him. Makoto fully supports this, and encourages Genocide Jack to commit to her promise. He says he'll help her, and the two of them can work together as soon as they escape Hope's Peak. Jack seems excited by this, and tells Makoto that she'll be counting on him.
Makoto is the older brother of Toko and Genocide Jack's best friend, Komaru Naegi. This relationship is referenced by Toko in Ultimate Talent Development Plan, when she notes that Makoto is the "next best thing" to Komaru. Seeing as Toko and Genocide Jack share emotions, it is likely that she feels the same sort of kinship towards Makoto. Jack and Makoto do not share any interactions in UTDP or Danganronpa S: Ultimate Summer Camp.
Fanon[]
Makosyo is the 6th most popular ship for Genocide Jack on AO3. However, it is still considered to be a rarepair, and much less popular than its parallel ship, Naekawa. With Genocide Jack's most popular ship being Syomaru, many fans choose to pair Makoto and Jack together as a platonic pairing rather than a romantic one. Still, the ship does have its fans, with some believing that Makoto's intense sense of hope could help to stop Jack's murderous tendencies.
On AO3, Makosyo has over 20 works.
