Maribrey is the femslash ship between Mari and Aubrey from the Omori fandom.

Canon

The two are close friends. Aubrey was shown to heavily admire Mari. The two first met when Aubrey lost one of her shoes, and Mari, Hero, Kel and Sunny tried to reassure her. Mari and Aubrey are often shown hanging out like normal friends. It is implied Mari was a very important person to Aubrey and that Mari meant almost everything to her. When Mari had died, Aubrey is shown to be deeply affected and sadden by the loss of a close friend of hers. Aubrey had worn Mari's old clothes, when she had died, in memory of her.

The two wanted to dye their hairs together, Mari wanted her hair to be purple and Aubrey wanted her hair to be pink. Due to Mari's death they never got the chance to do so. For Mari, Aubrey dyed her hair pink, but never got the chance to do it with Mari since she had died. Aubrey had stolen Basil's photo album, only for the photos of Mari, because it was all Aubrey had left from her. Aubrey also got furious with Basil when she saw that Basil had scribbled Mari's face with black marker, though it was never Basil who did so. It is shown that Mari's death greatly impacted on Aubrey and had caused her to change heavily. When none of her friends were there for Aubrey, she felt like everyone just left her and Mari.

The two appear together in quite a bunch of photos in the photo album. In a photo, Aubrey is shown to sleeping on Mari's arm. In another photo, Aubrey is shown to be eating ice-cream with Mari. There was official art made for two which shows Mari's spirit wishing Aubrey a happy birthday. In the Mari's bento official art, Aubrey is shown to be admiring what Mari had made. Mari is also implied to be a sister figure to Aubrey. Aubrey is the only one in her group who visited Mari's grave for 4 years. Aubrey starting going to church so she could find peace from the incident where Mari died. In dreamworld, the two are shown to be on good terms. In Sunny's memories, Aubrey is shown dancing to Mari and Sunny playing the piano.

Even though Aubrey forgave her friends for leaving her and Mari, she still misses Mari dearly. Later on ingame, it is shown that Aubrey put a pinwheel on a stump, which was the tree which Mari got hanged from. When Kel says what would Mari think, Aubrey responds who cares about what Mari thinks, Mari's dead though it doesn't mean Aubrey doesn't care about Mari.

Fanon

Maribrey is a popular ship within the Omori fandom. Fans may prefer them platonically instead due to the age range between the two. A common theory in the fandom for the ship is that Aubrey may of had a crush on Mari, though it isn't confirmed. The ship sailed due to how close the two were and Aubrey's admiration to Mari and how much she missed Mari so much. In fanarts made for the two, it is shown that Mari and Aubrey had dyed their hairs together just as they wished since they never got the chance to do so as Mari had passed away unfortunately.

However the ship is overshadowed by the twos popular ships, HeroMari and Sunburn. Fans like to make AUS never Mari had never died, in order for Aubrey to be happy again. Currently, they have 9 fanworks made for them in the Archive Of Own. There is lots of fanart made for the two where it is shown that Mari and Aubrey are having fun as friends. Other fanart show Aubrey mourning over Mari's death. In some fanfictions, it shows Aubrey is happy that Mari is alive and well.
