Marmond is the slash ship between Marshal and Raymond from the Animal Crossing fandom.
Canon[]
Marshal and Raymond are both "smug" villagers. They frequently talk about how awesome they think they are. Yet they are friendly and polite with other villagers and the player. Marshal was added in New Leaf. While Raymond was added in New Horizons. They're different species, though of similar stature. Marshal is a squirrel and Raymond is a cat. They both have similar haircuts; cream-colored bangs that point to the side. Their default clothing includes a vest, though Marshal's is a Puffy Vest, and Raymond's is a Waistcoat. The interior of their houses are incredibly different. Marshal's is a cozy little cottage with a piano and cuckoo clock. Raymond's is stylized after a sterile office cubicle. Though they both have a machine dispensing drinks, Marshal's is a coffee machine, Raymond's is a water dispenser.
The game allows for conversations between two smug villagers. One of them involves them chatting about things that they couldn't live without. They both agree on lip balm, a mirror and a tiny umbrella you can put in your iced coffee.
Additionally, in a promotional video titled "Animal Crossing Pocket Poll Awards Voting Results Ceremony," both Raymond and Marshall win first and second place respectively in three categories. Upon winning his third award, Raymond allows Marshall to speak on his behalf, calling him his friend.

Marmond is the fifth-most popular ship for the "Animal Crossing Series" tag on AO3. It is also the most popular ship between two "regular" villagers.
The popularity seems to come from the fact that the two of them are the most popular villagers in the series, due to their appealing designs. General headcanon seems to be that they are best friends and spend most of their time together.
