Matsukamu is the slash ship between Yasuke Matsuda and Izuru Kamukura from the Danganronpa fandom.
Canon[]
Izuru Kamukura and Yasuke Matsuda have never met in canon. However, they are involved in several events indirectly associating themselves with one another. Their involvement is further complicated by the contradictory canonicity of Danganronpa 3: The End of Hope's Peak High School and Danganronpa Zero, and the fact that neither make an appearance beyond mention in both.
The first time one shows awareness of the other's existence takes place in Chapter 4 of Danganronpa Zero. While Yasuke is questioning another student, Sōshun Murasame, he asks him about Izuru. The blame for The Tragedy of Hope's Peak Academy is pinned on Izuru by Junko Enoshima in Danganronpa 3, but is hidden by the school in Danganronpa Zero. In Danganronpa Zero's version of events, Yasuke is the only student the Steering Committee informed of the cover-up and one of the few that know of Izuru Kamukura as anything more than a ghost story.
Yasuke is associated with Izuru again in chapter 12. During this chapter, Yuto Kamishiro and Ryoko Otonashi investigate the old school building where Izuru used to reside. There Yasuke pretends to be Izuru to test Ryoko's memory, but soon gives up and reveals that Izuru is no longer in the academy.
The last time the two are involved with each other is in Super Daganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair. Yasuke does not actually appear but is instead involved through his aid in creating the Neo World Program. It is through this program that Izuru's existence is temporarily erased and later merged with Hajime Hinata.
Additionally, both characters are associated with Junko Enoshima and The Tragedy as accomplices in her plans to take over Hope's Peak Academy and send the world into chaos.
Fanon[]
This ship seemed to have sailed due to their shared involvement with other characters and organizations and association with neurology. Yasuke's title as Ultimate Neurologist and Izuru's creation being the result of neuroscience (among other medicines) has created a common trend in fanfiction to write Yasuke as one of the doctors bringing him into existence.
Yasuke's harsh personality and chronic disgruntled apathy is often juxtaposed with Izuru's detachment and coldness. The ineffectiveness of Yasuke's antagonization is used for both comedy and angst, depending on how it is portrayed.
The main draw to the ship seems to differ greatly. While some are attracted by the ability to highlight each character's flaws and conflicts through a dysfunctional relationship, others favor the idea that they could aid each other in recovering from the traumas inflicted upon them at Hope's Peak Academy.
The ship is fairly popular in reference to other Izuru and Yasuke ships but is fairly uncommon in the Danganronpa fandom as a whole due to both characters' only gaining focus outside of the games.
