McDuck Triplets is the family ship between Webby Vanderquack, May Duck and June Duck from the DuckTales fandom.
Canon[]
After Scrooge McDuck arranged matters so that the magical and powerful Papyrus of Binding could be found only by his rightful heir, the criminal organization F.O.W.L. orchestrated a plan to obtain it by creating one. The result of this scheme was an infant Duck girl whom they dubbed April. However, S.H.U.S.H. agent and director Bentina Beakley found the child during her raid on F.O.W.L. Headquarters and rescued her. Naming her Webbigail “Webby” Vanderquack, Beakley raised the girl as her own granddaughter in the home of Scrooge McDuck, Webby’s unknown biological father.
Over a decade later, F.O.W.L. sought to bring their long laid plans to fruition. To that end, they obtained genetic material from Webby during a confrontation with Scrooge’s family. Using a fragment of the magical Stone of What Was, they created two clones of her and artificially aged them using water from the Fountain of the Foreverglades. These clones, named May and June, regarded F.O.W.L. scientist Black Heron as their mother and were loyal to the organization. As part of the organization’s plan, the two were “abandoned” at F.O.W.L.’s newest headquarters, and were found when Scrooge, Webby, and their allies raided it.
Ignorant of her own origins, Webby was understandably baffled by the discovery of her new “sisters.” She was, however, eager to welcome them into her extensive circle of family and friends. May and June, however, sought to sabotage Webby’s loyalties and bring her into the F.O.W.L. fold. Webby eventually caught them stealing a number of magical artifacts. June was ordered to subdue and capture Webby, but she managed to overcome and impersonate the clone.
This allowed Webby to journey to the new F.O.W.L. base at the Library of Alexandria. While there, she learned that she too had been created by F.O.W.L., and ultimately chose to assist the villains in exchange for learning the full truth about herself. However, after recovering the Papyrus of Binding, Webby was promptly imprisoned under the guard of a hostile May and June. All three would then watch on a screen as Black Heron was murdered by F.O.W.L. leader Bradford Buzzard. This, coupled with the revelation that Webby and by extension her clones were, genetically speaking, Scrooge McDuck’s daughters, led May and June to join Webby against Bradford.
Together, the trio and Scrooge’s other allies overcame F.O.W.L. and brought an end to their scheming. The sisters then traveled together aboard the Sun Chaser back to Duckburg. While Webby was confirmed in her place in Scrooge’s family, her sisters were less certain of their new situation. Fortunately, they would be welcomed by Webby’s own close friends and by their newly discovered cousin, Donald Duck.
Fanon[]
The McDuck Triplets are a fairly drastic reimagining of the Girl Duck Triplets, Daisy Duck’s nieces. This particular plot decision, particularly Webby’s place as the DuckTales version of both her own original counterpart and April, proved polarizing in the fandom. While some find the concept intriguing, others are wholly contemptuous of such a drastic take on legacy Disney characters. Critics of the changes are particularly perturbed that a trio historically depicted as Daisy’s nieces and foils for the Duck Triplets have been reimagined as Scrooge McDuck’s daughters and thus cousins to his great-nephews.
There are currently over 25 works for the relationship on AO3.
