The Mid-Afternoon Snack Club is the friend ship between Milo Murphy, Zack Underwood, Melissa Chase, Amanda Lopez, Bradley Nicholson, and Mort Schaeffer.

Canon

In "The Mid-Afternoon Snack Club", Milo, Zack, Melissa, Amanda, Mort, and Brad were all in art class, where they dealt with an abrasive drill sergeant of a substitute teacher, Mr. Blunt. Mr. Blunt gave every single one of them detention for no particular reason other than to be mean and they were all sentences to show up in his class after school. He tasked them all with the assignment of making a collaborative art project that would reflect all six of their personalities but he put a lot of weight on this task, as he hated art, seeing it as nothing more than a waste of time, and promised to not be impressed with whatever they'd cobble together. This led the six of them to decide against doing any actual work for this guy and to just hang out, doing whatever they wanted, but not before Bradley insulted all of them, calling them out for their various personality quirks and shortcomings. He also disrespected Mort by confusing him with Chad, even though Melissa admitted that she got the two confused as well. Milo was the level-headed one of the group and suggested that they should really try to work on that sculpture for Mr. Blunt, only for everyone to silently put this off, prompting Milo to just slack off like the rest of them. The gang screwed around and did things like dancing on the tables, chewing bubblegum, giving each other makeovers, pretending they were rowing a canoe, and recreating scenes from The Breakfast Club, only to act all innocent when Mr. Blunt checked back in with them. They later all sat around and vented about their innermost struggles and deepest, darkest secrets. It can be implied that The Murphy's Law Trio's secrets were the same ones they shared with each other in "Secrets and Pies", now letting Amanda, Bradley, and Mort know. Amanda said that her secret was that she had a wild side and that one time in algebra class, she didn't take any notes. Bradley broke down, crying, saying that he was once in love with Carla, the frozen yogurt machine, which was his deepest secret. Mort was about to tell everyone his deepest secret that he had never told anybody before, only for Zack to cut him off and share how he always felt as though he was in Milo's shadow in their relationship and was just the sidekick to the hero Milo was, whenever things went awry. Milo didn't know Zack felt that way and offered to let him be the hero the next time something went wrong, which happened right away, when the lab rats broke out of their cage, setting off some bunsen burners, lighting the cabinets on fire, triggering the sprinklers on the ceiling, only for a pipe to burst, making the room flood and leaving the fires unattended. While Zack used his science tools to fix everything, completely without the aide of Milo, a cyborg-grizzly bear broke into the room to murder Milo, unbeknownst to everyone. The cyborg grizzly was unwittingly defeated by Zack, when he stepped in the rat cage, slipped in the water and grabbed into a white board with math problems on it to try and stop him, only for the white board to break off its hinges and go with him, leading the bear to bust into a CO2 pipe, which froze him solid just as a plastic brain from the ceiling fell down and smashed him over the head like a helmet. Right after all the madness ended, Mr. Blunt came in and saw the beautiful "art sculpture" they all made, which was just the frozen ice sculpture of the cyborg grizzly in a weird abstract position. Mr. Blunt was so mesmerized by the beauty, that his faith in art was restored and he dismissed detention for everyone. The kids left class that day, all having a deeper understanding of each other, except for Mort, who was still being completely ignored.

Fanon

"The Mid-Afternoon Snack Club" is a well-received episode among the fandom, due to its eponymous friend group. The way minor characters who usually don't get to know each other were now having stronger interactions really helped build the community within the series lore. New friendships blossomed and everybody got a deeper understanding of each other by the end of the day, (except Mort). Plenty of fanfictions exist, grouping the six of these people together, with some of them believing that this "cast of six" would make a good extension of the Murphy's Law Trio as the main cast. The fact that this friend group is a clear reference to The Breakfast Club is also an intelligent reference and a humorous but respectful tribute to 80's movie culture.
