MikuMei is the femslash ship between Hatsune Miku and MEIKO from the Vocaloid and Project SEKAI fandom.

Canon[]

Miku and Meiko are characters from the voice synthesizer Vocaloid. The two have in common that both belong to Crypton Future Media. Miku was developed vy Crypton from the start, while MEIKO was originally distributed by the company and later became its property. Because of this. the two appear together in many semi-official stuff, such games like Project DIVA and Project SEKAI. However both MEIKO and Miku don't have any official personality or relationship. Their dynamic can variate depending on the song that they sing together.

Songs[]

In the song Jitterbug Miku asks MEIKO for advice because she has many crazy ideas that are constantly rejected by people. MEIKO advises her to ignore criticism and do whatever she wants. Other songs featuring these two together are:

  • Hurray by Honeyworks
  • Koneko no Paya Paya by Onecup-p

Project SEKAI[]

Like in the songs' case, in Project SEKAI their relationship and personalities variate depending on the SEKAI. In the Street SEKAI, Miku is a Street singer while MEIKO own a cafe called Crase Cafe. Miku, along with her DJ Len, helps MEIKO to run her cafe. In the Wonderland SEKAI, Miku secretly asks MEIKO to help her perform stunts that KAITO won't let her do. In the Classroom SEKAI, the two often play music together along with the other Virtual Singers and rehearse with members with the Leo/Need squad. As MEIKO I arrived to the SEKAI after Miku, she thinks that that makes Miku her "senpai". In the Stage SEKAI, Miku (and Rin as well) seems to admire MEIKO as an idol and often ask her for advise in order to improve in singing and dancing. MEIKO advise her dance in a way that reflects the song you sing. In the Empty SEKAI, MEIKO strongly believe that the members of Nightcord at 25:00 should found their true feelings by their own and often overserve them, while Miku ask her if she is sure of what she is thinking.

Fanon[]

MikuMei is a rarepair and one of the least popular ships between Crypton Vocaloids. It is overshadowed by al the othe Miku ships with Cryptonloids, as well as KaiMei and MeiLuka from MEIKO's side. Many fans believe that MEIKO and Miku are an underated duo and that there should be more song for them. For some people, MEIKO would be like a sister or mother figure for Miku.
