Milissa is the het ship between Milo Murphy and Melissa Chase from the Milo Murphy's Law fandom.

Canon

Milo and Melissa knew each other before the events of Milo Murphy's Law. They first met at the age of 6 while waiting for the bus to John P. Trystate Elementary School, as shown in the flashbacks of the Season 2 episode "First Impressions". Their first bust trip together became a hectic ride thanks to Murphy's Law, but it had Melissa thrilled to bits, to the point she declared her and Milo as best friends after they arrive at school. The two had practically been inseparable ever since, with Melissa joining all of the crazy Murphy's Law-filled adventures with Milo, including the infamous Llama Incident, which she keeps record of on her phone. Melissa also became a close family friend, being the only person outside of immediate family that was being invited to Milo's birthdays.

The 44-minute special "Missing Milo" also reveals that Melissa has a "Milo room" in the basement; the room is filled with pictures of Milo, stringboards, and various items Milo has used in the past. It is revealed that Melissa used to gather a variety of Milo-related memorabilia in order to figure out how Murphy's Law works and find a cure for it in order to help Milo. She later figured that Milo probably wouldn't want to be cured from Murphy's Law, but despite that, she kept collecting so she would be able to explain the workings of Murphy's Law in the future, and perhaps monetize it.

Fanon

Some fans already begun shipping Milissa before Milo Murphy's Law began proper, based on the fact that Melissa was the best friend of Milo since their childhood, and a fellow protagonist alongside Milo and Zack, the newcomer best friend. Fans of Milissa admired that Melissa is a close friend of Milo who, unlike Milo's other peers, did not judge Milo poorly based on the fact that he has Murphy's Law, and instead revels in it, hyping him up and being unconditionally supportive of him. The fans identified these traits as prospects for Melissa to become Milo's soulmate, truly believing she was meant to be Milo's love interest in the end, with some believing that Melissa has a huge crush on Milo. This was before Milo Murphy's Law introduced Milanda in the show through Milo's crush on Amanda in "Smooth Opera-tor". Upon that revelation, Milissa fans either brushed it off, seeing Milo's crush on Amanda as a temporary phase and believing it's not going to work out, or were upset enough to want Amanda being paired up with Zack, purely so Amanda wouldn't get inbetween Milo and Melissa. People who had become fans of Milanda would in turn argue that Milissa is too safe, boring or cliché in comparison to their preferred ship, and instead preferred Milo and Melissa to stay close friends.

Fans of Milissa also speculated that the Milo room of Melissa in "Missing Milo" is a large indication that Melissa has romantic feelings for Milo, despite staff working on the show stating otherwise. Milissa shippers were disdained that Season 2 of Milo Murphy's Law continued developing Milanda with episodes such as "Cake 'Splosion!" and "Managing Murphy's Law"; the latter in particular was received poorly by them as the end of the episode reveals Amanda's feelings for Milo were mutual as she kissed him on the cheek. This did not deter them as they continued to expect, or at least hope, for something that would show that Melissa has feelings for Milo. The shippers were particularly hopeful for such a moment in "First Impressions", the episode which would reveal how Milo and Melissa met, in spite of show writers stating that Milissa won't be canon.

Fans of Milissa are not too fond of Zalissa either, which would have Melissa paired up with Zack instead. Outside of Zalissa being less developed than Milanda, some people also took note of Melissa punching Zack's shoulder as a running gag in Season 2, which could be seen as an indication of dislike and abuse. Much like Amanda kissing Milo in "Managing Murphy's Law", Milissa fans reacted poorly to Melissa taking interest in Zack and kissing him on the cheek in "Sphere and Loathing in Outer Space", the Season 2 finale.

While Milissa is not quite as popular overall in the current day, it's one of the more popular Het ships involving Milo Murphy.
