MinaKoji is the het ship between Mina Ashido and Koji Koda from the My Hero Academia fandom.
Canon[]
Mina and Koji are both members of Class 1-A at UA High School. They are both mutants, or "heteromorphs". Despite having mutated features, neither of their Quirks actually rely upon their mutations. In this way, they are different from other heteromorphs in their class, such as Mezo Shoji or Tsuyu Asui.
During their first week of school, All Might hosts Battle Trials. Mina and Yuga Aoyama are seen paired up against Koji and Rikido Sato. We do not see the results of the battle, nor do we see the two teams actually stand off against each other.
During the League of Villains' attack on the Summer Training camp, Mina and Koji end up safe together inside the classroom. While Mina is there because she failed his final exam, Koji ends up running there upon the arrival of Spinner and Magne. Following the attack, the students of UA move into on-campus dormitories. The girls decide they want to hold a room contest after everyone is finished unpacking. When the girls visit Koji's dorm, they are excited to see that he has a pet rabbit. Mina and Ochako Uraraka in particular are seen fawning over the creature. Seeing how excited Mina is about the rabbit, Denki Kaminari calls Koji out for trying to "buy the judges' love".
When Ochako, Tsuyu, Eijiro Kirishima, and Izuku Midoriya return from the Shie Hassaikai Raid, the 1-A students all come out to greet them. Koji brings his rabbit with him, and holds it as everyone checks on the wellbeing of their classmates. Later, Mina is seen holding onto the rabbit. She offers it to the two girls in an attempt to make them feel better.
At some point prior to the Final War, Mezo Shoji sits down with his classmates and tells them the story of his scars. He speaks about the abuse that he faced in his hometown for being a heteromorph, and says that people like Koji and Mina who come from large cities might not understand. Mina calls Mezo's treatment awful, and later in the series Koji is seen standing up for Mezo when villains mock him for his appearance. Mina and Koji are then seen hugging Mezo, along with a handful of other classmates. It is clear that they both care very deeply, both for their friend and for heteromorph rights.
Fanon[]
MinaKoji is a rarepair in the My Hero fandom. Although it is in the top 10 for Koji's ships on AO3, it is still rather unknown across the fandom. This is likely due to Koji being a minor character, even as a member of Class 1-A. Mina being canonically aromantic might be another reason for why the ship is not very popular.
It likely sailed as a result of seeing the two interact during the school dormitory episode. Other fans of the ship might like the fact that Koji and Mina are a perfect representation of the "Opposites Attract" trope. While Mina is loud and exuberant at all times, Koji is typically mute and reserved. Fans of this ship believe that Mina would bring Koji out of his shell.
