Gameplay[]
The world of Minecraft has no story, you play as a human dropped into a strangely Earth-like world that is randomly generated every playthrough. At the beginning, you have nothing but your own hands to use to break parts of the blocky environment to build a shelter and stronger tools out of. Depending on difficulty, there are monsters lurking in the dark, trying to kill you, so you are best finished with building your house before nightfall.
After that, you can do whatever you want, you can collect seeds to build a garden and grow your own vegetables and wheat. You can use your resources to tame animals and/or farm them. You can risk your life in the mines trying to find rare ores. You can trade with the villagers to earn favors with them.
Or you can challenge the toughest monsters known to man for the thrill of it.

Gender does not exist in the world of Minecraft, with the sole exception being the Ender Dragon, who is confirmed to be female. Even during the Notch-era, Steve was designed to be genderless and while Alex can be read as Steve's female counterpart, they are actually modeled after a man (Jeb)
