Mineta and death, or “an untimely perishing” have never interacted in canon, but they’ve taken several close stumbles, letting them grow closer and closer to each other, one unfortunate, life threatening, likely villain-caused mishap at a time.
As a hero in training at U.A, the top ranking high school of heroics, Mineta has to endure utmost turmoil, and endless training to become subjectively “heroic”, but with the coming fall of All Might, he, alongside his classmates have to deal with the constant threat and danger of villains who have the goal of upturning society for their profit, and bringing upon the end of good and heroes. This leads to many events in which lives are almost, and sometimes took. Mineta is not an exception to this, especially with the pitifully small stature of his body, which evidently, don’t make much help to fleeing a scene, although that doesn’t stop him from trying!
However, the power provided by Mineta’s balls (the mohawk-looking ‘grapes’ on his head) prevent him from taking that final misstep and falling into the caring, albeit cold arms of his loving mistress, the one known affectionately as death. Regardless, the things Mineta is put through bring him close, but never too close.
Mineta x Death is an exceptionally popular pairing, even exceeding the ships of BakuDeku, KiriBaku, and TodoDeku from time to time, especially in sudden upsurges of Mineta’s pervertedness in the series. The ship has variants, such as NoMineta, the ship between our grape-lord Mineta, and nonexistence, but they all lead to the same meaning of what can only be said as “goodbye, Mineta”.
Tsuyu is considered to be a shipper of the two, as she once tied Mineta up with rope around his body (in a non-sexy way), and simply left him there. She also dunked him under water after he tried to touch her forbidden frog tiddies, a misdemeanor to which no punishment is seen as enough.
- Mineta x Death is legitimately one of the first things to pop up when “Mineta” is typed into a (Google) searchbar.
